Tony Mitchell (born August 7, 1989) is an American professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the University of Alabama. High school career As a junior at Swainsboro High School, Mitchell averaged 19 points, eight rebounds and five blocked shots. For his effort, he was named the 2007 Georgia Sports Writers Association Class AA Player of the Year and was voted all-state. He averaged 27 points, eight rebounds and five assists per game his senior year and lead his team to a 2008 regional title. Coming out of high school, Mitchell was rated as a four-star prospect and the #10 overall small forward by Scout.com and a four-star player and the #8 overall small forward by Rivals.com. Tony LaShae Mitchell Jr. (born April 7, 1992) is an American professional basketball player for Cocodrilos de Caracas of the Superliga Profesional de Baloncesto (SPB) in Venezuela. He competed in college for North Texas. Mitchell is , weighs 235 pounds and plays the forward position. Mitchell was selected in the 2013 NBA draft in the second round (37th overall). High school career Mitchell played three years of prep basketball. For his career, he posted over 1,500 points and 700 rebounds. As a senior at L. G. Pinkston High School he averaged 20.5 points, 13.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 4.1 blocks per game while leading his school to a 26–10 record and a berth in the Class 4A Region II Tournament. In one playoff game against Lincoln High School he recorded 25 points, 20 rebounds and five blocks in an overtime win. Tony Mitchell (born 5 September 1951 in Sydney, Australia) is a songwriter and bass guitarist who rose to fame in the 1970s with the Australian rock band Sherbet. Tony co-wrote (with Garth Porter) some of Sherbet's biggest hits, including " Howzat" and "Magazine Madonna". Howzat In 1976, someone suggested to Tony Mitchell and keyboardist Garth Porter that ''Howzat'' might make a good title for a song because some of the members of Sherbet loved cricket. Despite Mitchell not being a good cricketer, he sat down with Garth Porter at Porter's Watsons Bay home to work on the idea. Mitchell soon came up with the "doo-doo, doo-doo" bass riff, after which the first thing that came into Porter's mind was the phrase "I caught you out." John Richard Anthony Mitchell FRCP (24 October 1928 – 22 March 1991) was a prominent British physician and medical academic. Early life and education Mitchell was born in the Yorkshire town of Shipley. His father, Richard Newton Mitchell, worked as a bank teller and his mother, Elizabeth (née Bell), was the daughter of dock foreman John William Bell. He attended Morecambe Grammar School before studying physiology at the University of Manchester, where he graduated with a first-class degree with honours. He completed his clinical training at Manchester Royal Infirmary. He served as a medical specialist in the Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC) during his mandatory National Service from 1955 to 1957.
