Anthony Fenn Kemp
Anthony Fenn Kemp (1773 – 28 October 1868) was a soldier, merchant and a deputy judge advocate of the colony of New South Wales (the predecessor to the Australian State). He was one of the key participants in the "Rum Rebellion" that removed William Bligh, the appointed governor of the colony, and established an interim military government. He was later permitted to settle in Van Diemen's Land and became a successful merchant and farmer there. Early years Kemp was born in England, near Aldgate, London, probably around 1773. He was educated in Greenwich, London. After finishing school, he travelled to the United States and to France. On his return, he purchased a commission as an ensign in the New South Wales Corps, a regiment raised in England specifically to maintain discipline in the colony of New South Wales. Anthony Kemp (1939 – 29 January 2018) was an English writer, journalist and military historian specialising in the history of World War II. Biography Anthony Kemp was born in London in 1939, he had a clear memory of the preparations for D-Day in the Hampshire village where he lived as a child. Educated at Brighton College, after service in the Royal Air Force, he spent several years in Germany before returning to study modern history at Pembroke College, Oxford. After a short period as a university lecturer, Kemp worked for twelve years as researcher, producer, and director of documentary programmes for British television, notably Television South. He was associated with a number of award-winning documentary productions on the Second World War, including ''Nan Red'', the story of D-Day at Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer, Calvados. Tony Kemp (born 18 January 1968) is a New Zealand former rugby league test representative and former coach of the New Zealand Warriors. He is a commentator for Māori Television's coverage of the Auckland Rugby League competition and also serves as the Football Manager for the New Zealand Rugby League. Background Kemp was born in Whangarei but raised in Waitara, and attended Waitara High School. He played rugby league for the Randwick Kingfishers in the Wellington Rugby League competition and in 1987 made the Junior Kiwis. Playing career 1980s In 1986/87 he joined the Doncaster for a season before taking up a professional career full-time when he joined the Newcastle Knights in 1988. Anthony Allen Kemp (born October 31, 1991) is an American professional baseball second baseman and outfielder for the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played in MLB for the Houston Astros and Chicago Cubs. Kemp won the World Series with the Astros in 2017. Career Amateur Kemp graduated from Centennial High School (Franklin, Tennessee), Centennial High School in Franklin, Tennessee. He attended Vanderbilt University, where he played college baseball for the Vanderbilt Commodores baseball team. In 2011, Kemp was named the Southeastern Conference's (SEC) Freshman of the Year and First Team All-SEC.
