Tony Bernard Gaiter Jr. (born July 15, 1974) is an American former professional football wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) who played for the New England Patriots and San Diego Chargers. He was selected in the sixth round of the 1997 NFL draft. He played college football for the Miami Hurricanes. He also played in the XFL for the Orlando Rage. The XFL was a professional American football league that played its only season in 2001. The XFL was operated as a joint venture between the WWE, World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) and NBC. The XFL was conceived as an outdoor football league that would begin play immediately after the National Football League season ended, to take advantage of the perceived lingering public desire to watch football after the NFL and college football seasons conclude. The 1997 NFL Draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting.
