Tony Douglas (soccer)
Tony Douglas (born August 16, 1952, in Point Fortin, Trinidad) is a retired professional football (soccer) forward from Trinidad and Tobago. He spent his professional career in the United States, playing in the North American Soccer League, American Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League. He earned seven caps, scoring one goal, with the Trinidad and Tobago national football team. In 1974, Douglas signed with the Los Angeles Aztecs of the North American Soccer League. As the fifth shooter, he converted on the game-winning penalty kick for the Aztecs in the 1974 NASL Championship Final. Point Fortin
Point Fortin, officially the Republic Borough of Point Fortin, the smallest Borough in Trinidad and Tobago is located in southwestern Trinidad, about southwest of San Fernando, in the historic county of Saint Patrick. After the discovery of petroleum in the area in 1906 the town grew into a major oil-producing centre. The town grew with the oil industry between the 1940s and 1980s, culminating in its elevation to borough status in 1980. After the end of the oil boom Point Fortin was hit hard by economic recession in the 1980s and the closure of its oil refinery. Construction of a Liquefied Natural Gas plant by Atlantic LNG in late 1990s boosted the economy. Osvaldo Toriani (July 24, 1937 – September 24, 1988) was an Argentine footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Career Toriani played with Unión de Mar del Plata in 1955. He played in the Argentine Primera División in 1958 with Club Atlético Tigre. The following season he played in the Primera Nacional with Tigre. In 1960, he played with Club Atlético Independiente, and assisted in securing the league title in 1960, and 1963. He also assisted Independiente in winning the 1964 Copa Libertadores, and 1965 Copa Libertadores. In 1967, he signed with Newell's Old Boys.
