Tony Brown (Australian Rules Footballer)
Tony Brown (born 28 May 1977) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who has played in the Australian Football League (AFL) and the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). He had to make the choice between cricket and football after representing Victoria in under age cricket. Originally from the Geelong Falcons, Brown was drafted by St Kilda Football Club at the 1994 AFL Draft and made his senior AFL debut in 1995. Playing as a rover, Brown was a hard-running player, and was a committed and whole hearted individual who was greatly respected within the club. Brown played in St Kilda’s 1996 AFL Ansett Australia Cup winning side. Brown played in 21 of 22 matches in the 1997 AFL season home and away rounds in which St Kilda Football Club qualified in first position for the finals, winning the club’s second Minor Premiership and first McClelland Trophy. Geelong Falcons
The Geelong Falcons is a youth Australian rules football representative club in the NAB League, the Victorian statewide under-18s competition, Victoria, Australia. The club takes in talented junior players from the Geelong, Colac and Warrnambool regions in order to prepare them for AFL selection. There is an under-15 V-Line cup side and an under-16 side, but the club's main focus is its under-18 side, who play a longer season. In 2007, Jimmy Bartel became the first ex-Falcon to win the AFL Brownlow Medal, for the league's best and fairest player, while Jonathan Brown became the first ex-Falcon to win the Coleman Medal for the most goals in the season. The Leopold Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Lions'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in Leopold, Victoria. The club teams currently compete in the regional Geelong Football Netball League. They play their home games at Leopold Memorial Park. 2011 AFL Season
The 2011 AFL season was the 115th season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The season featured seventeen clubs, with the newly established Gold Coast Suns, based in Gold Coast, Queensland, playing its inaugural season. The season ran from 24 March until 1 October, and comprised a 22-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top eight clubs.
