Tonton David
Ray David Grammont (12 October 1967 in Paris – 16 February 2021 in Nancy, France), better known under his stage name Tonton David was a French Reggae singer born in Réunion. He was renowned for his raggamuffin performances, but used influences of soul music, gro kâ (from the French West Indies), the Zairian rumba. Biography Tonton David had a turbulent childhood in a suburb of Paris. He left his family aged 14 and had a successful career in music with songs featuring powerful and political lyrics. In 1990, Tonton David had his big break when he was featured in a TV report about " Black Paris". Following that performance, Tonton David was signed by the Virgin record label. Shortly after, he recorded "Peuples du monde", which was featured in French rap compilation ''Rapattitudes''. The Tontons
The Tontons are an indie rock band from Houston, Texas consisting of lead vocalist Asli Omar, bassist Tom Nguyen, guitarist Adam Martinez, and drummer Justin Martinez. They were formed in 2007. They have received two Houston Press Music Awards, including "Best New Act" of 2008 and "Best Local Recording" in 2014. In 2010 Houston Chronicle named their debut album as one of the "Favorite Local Albums of The Decade," and in 2011 it was named one of the best local albums by both Houston Chronicle and Houston Press. The Barelang Bridge ( Jawi:جمبتن باريلڠ ; ; id, Jembatan Barelang) is a chain of 6 bridges of various types that connect the islands of Batam, Rempang, and Galang, Riau Islands built in 1997. ''Barelang'' also refers to the islands themselves, which are all administratively part of the municipality of Batam. The smaller islands of Tonton, Nipah, and Setotok (considered parts of the Batam island group) connect Batam and Rempang, while a further small island - Galang Baru - is connected at the southern end of the chain. Pupung is a daily comic strip created by Filipino cartoonist Washington "Tonton" Young. Appearing in the broadsheet ''Manila Bulletin'', the strip revolves around its title character, a young boy, and his family and household. Pupung's family maintains a ''lugawan'', a restaurant which mainly serves rice congee (Filipino ''lugaw'') dishes. History ''Pupung'' debuted as ''My Little Pupung'' in the newspaper ''Tempo'' on December 15, 1983. The strip later moved to ''Times Journal'', where it remained until January 1986, when Young was fired after spoofing a radio campaign advertisement for then President Ferdinand Marcos.
