Tonopah (baseball)
The Tonopah team was a minor league baseball team based in Tonopah, Nevada in 1907. The team moniker was noted to be the "Mollycoddlers," as Tonopah played the 1907 season as members of the Independent level Nevada State League. The 1907 Tonopah team was the only minor league team hosted in Tonopah, Nevada. Tonopah also was home to the 1907 Tonopah Pullmans, possibly a negro leagues semi–pro team. History In 1907, Tonopah was a charter member of the Nevada State League, which began minor league play in the 1907 season, operating as an Independent four–team league. Independent Baseball League
An independent baseball league is a professional baseball organization in the United States or Canada that is not overseen by Major League Baseball and is outside the Minor League Baseball clubs affiliated to it. The Northern League and Frontier League both started play in 1993, and the Northern League's success paved the way for other independent leagues like the Texas-Louisiana League and Northeast League. The Goldfield "Miners" were a minor league baseball team based in Goldfield, Nevada. The "Miners" played the 1907 season as members of the Independent level Nevada State League. Goldfield won the league championship in the only season of minor league play in Goldfield, Nevada.
