Tonni Hansen
Tonni Hansen (born 25 April 1958) is a Danish politician. He is a member of the Socialist People's Party and has been the mayor of Langeland Municipality since 2018. He has worked with furniture manufacturing and later with unions. He has also worked with development in Malawi and Zambia. Hansen is married and has two children. Political career Before the creating of Langeland Municipality, Hansen was in the municipal council of Rudkøbing Municipality from 1986 and until the municipality was merged with Sydlangeland and Tranekær in 2007. In the 2014 European Parliament election, Hansen ran for European Parliament and became the 2nd substitute for the Socialist People's Party. Tranekær Municipality
Until 1 January 2007 Tranekær Municipality was a municipality (Danish language, Danish: ''List of municipalities of Denmark (1970–2006), kommune'') in the former Funen County, on the northern parts of the island of Langeland. It also included the island of Siø. The municipality covered an area of 107.45 km2, and had a total population of 3,439 (2006). Its last mayor was Jørgen Nielsen, a member of the Venstre (Denmark), Venstres political party. Tranekær Municipality bordered Rudkøbing Municipality to the south and east, and connected to Svendborg Municipality from Siø through the Siøsund Bridge. 2017 Danish Local Elections
The Danish local elections of 2017 were held on 21 November 2017 for Denmark's 98 municipal councils and five regional councils. All 2,432 seats were contested for the 2018–21 term of office, together with 205 seats (a fixed number of 41 seats in each council) in five regional councils. In the previous election, there were 2,444 seats in the municipal councils. Results Results of regional elections The Danish ministry of economy and interior informed that voter turnout was 70.6%. 3,074,840 cast their votes. They voted for 205 seats in the five regional councils. This number remains unchanged since the first elections for the regional councils in the newly created regions, which were set up 1 January 2007 after the 13 counties were abolished. 2014 European Parliament Election In Denmark
The 2014 European Parliament election in Denmark was an election held in Denmark on 25 May 2014 to decide who would represent Denmark in the European Parliament (EP) from 2014 to 2019. The Danish People's Party with 26.6% of the votes became the largest party for the first time in a nationwide Danish election. The election was held alongside the Danish Unified Patent Court membership referendum where 62.5% of the voter approved ratification of the ''Agreement on a Unified Patent Court''. Sydlangeland Municipality
Until 1 January 2007 Sydlangeland Municipality was a municipality (Danish: '' kommune'') in the former Funen County, on the southern parts of the island of Langeland. It also included the inhabited islands of Lindø and Langø, as well as a number of smaller uninhabited islands. The municipality covered an area of 120.82 km2, and had a total population of 4,034 (2006). Its last mayor was Knud Gether, a member of a local political party. Sydlangeland Municipality bordered Rudkøbing Municipality to the north. Across a small strait to the west was Marstal Municipality, later Ærø Municipality.
