Tonneins XIII
Tonneins XIII are a French Rugby league club based in Tonneins, Lot-et-Garonne, in the Aquitaine region. They play in the French National Division 1. The club plays its home games at the Stade Jean-Bernege History Founded in 1934 making them one of the earliest Rugby League teams in France. They spent their early years in the lower leagues, indeed it wasn't until the 1990s that the club began to win major honours. A Federal Cup win 1990 was quickly followed IN 1992 by a runners-up spot in the National 2 league now called the National Division 1 after losing out to Saint-Hyppolite XIII 12-20. The club was offered and accepted promotion to the 2nd tier. After a couple of seasons in mid-table they then reached the league final in 95/96 losing out to RC Salon XIII 16-30. Stade (), officially the Hanseatic City of Stade (german: Hansestadt Stade, nds, Hansestadt Stood) is a city in Lower Saxony in northern Germany. First mentioned in records in 934, it is the seat of the district () which bears its name. It is located roughly to the west of Hamburg and belongs to that city's wider metropolitan region. Sporting Olympique Avignon also known as Avignon XIII or SO Avignon are a semi-professional rugby league team based in Avignon in the south of France. They currently play in the Elite One Championship. Gifi Bias XIII were a French Rugby league club based in Bias, Lot-et-Garonne, in the Aquitaine region. The club played in the French National Division 1 and National Division 2 leagues during its time. Founded in 1961, the club moved to Pujols, Lot-et-Garonne in 2014 and changed names to US Pujols XIII History Gifi Bias XIII were founded in 1961 but the club would have to wait for over 30 years before their first final appearance. That came in 1995 when they won the Coupe Falcou and by the end of the season they had completed a league and cup double after defeating RC Lescure-Arthes XIII in the National 2 nowadays the National Division 1 league final 34-12. Realmont XIII
Realmont XIII are a French rugby league club based in Realmont in the Tarn region of the Midi-Pyrénées. The club plays in the French National Division 1, which is the 3rd tier. The club plays home games at the Stade Claude Andre History The club was founded on 19 December 1935 making it one of the earliest Rugby League sides in France. Playing in regional divisions they were runner-up in 1939 in the Pyrenees Championship and were winners of the Champion du Rouergue in 1946. In 1976 the National 2 league was set up and the club were invited to participate, in 1978 they won the new league beating Sainte-Livrade XIII in the final 14-13. Elite Two Championship
Elite 2 (formerly the Elite Two Championship) is the second tier semi-professional rugby league competition in France below Elite 1, but above the National Division 1. The season runs from September to April. The clubs play each other home and away before entering into a series of play-off matches resulting in a Grand Final. The winners can gain promotion to Elite 1 providing they meet a minimum criteria. Occasionally the runners-up could be offered promotion. History The league was previously called the National League 1 from 1958 to 2002. The Elite Two Championship was formed in 2002 when the French Rugby League Championship was split into two Elite One and Elite Two. There was no competition in 1987 and in 1988 the league was won on league placings and not by a series of play-offs. Sauveterre de Comminges XIII, nicknamed ''Les Frelons'' (Hornets), are a French Rugby league club based in Sauveterre-de-Comminges, Haute-Garonne, in the Midi-Pyrénées region. They play in the French National Division 1. History The first mention of Les Frelons came in 2006 when the club reached the National Division 2, then called the Federal Division, league final and won 20-14 against former top flight club Tonneins XIII earning themselves promotion. In 2007 they won the Coupe Falcou. In the National Division 1 the club did well they reached the final in 2011 but lost to Tonneins XIII 16-20, who they also lost out to in the Paul Dejean Cup 23-27, the following season they also reached the league final this time they won beating Ornaisons XIII 28-4, and by a massive coincidence they also played Ornaisons XIII in the Paul Dejean Cup final winning 24-16. Rugby Club Salon XIII, nicknamed the ''Jaguars'', are a French Rugby league club based in Salon-de-Provence, Bouches-du-Rhône in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. The club plays in the French Elite Two Championship. History Founded in 1947 RC Salon lifted their first silverware in 1959 when they won the National 2 (now called National Division 1) title beating Le Soler in the final 21–10. It would be another 17 years before another trophy was won and once again it was the ''National 2'' league title this time following a 13–2 win against US Entraigues XIII .
