Tondiraba Ice Hall
The Tondiraba Ice Hall ( et, Tondiraba jäähall), is a multi-purpose indoor arena complex in Tallinn, Estonia. It was opened on 1 August 2014 and is owned by the City of Tallinn. It has a current capacity of 7,700 spectators. It can host among other things basketball games, ice hockey games, curling and concerts. History Tondiraba Ice Rink was opened in August 2014 as the first large building of the Tondiraba Sports Complex. It has a main arena, two practice rinks and a curling rink. The main arena can be used for sports including figure skating, ice hockey, short track speed skating, volleyball, handball, gymnastics and also concerts. The ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2015, held from 2 March to 8 March that year, claimed to be the first championship held in the complex. Short-track speed skating is a form of competitive ice skating, ice speed skating. In competitions, multiple skaters (typically between four and six) skate on an oval ice track with a length of . 2022 European Figure Skating Championships
The 2022 European Figure Skating Championships were held from 10 to 16 January 2022 in Tallinn, Estonia. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance. The competition determined the entry quotas for each federation at the 2023 European Championships. Russia swept the titles for a second consecutive European Championships and for the eighth time in history (after 1997, 1998, 1999, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2020). Tallinn was announced as the host in June 2019. The city previously hosted the competition in 2010. The 2018 Le Gruyère AOP European Curling Championships were held from November 16 to 24 in Tallinn, Estonia. The C Division competitions were held in April in Copenhagen, Denmark. The top seven men's teams will qualify for the 2019 World Men's Curling Championship. Additionally, the top two teams in the B division and the top two teams in the A division not already qualified for the World Men's Curling Championship will qualify for the 2019 World Qualification Event, a further chance to qualify for the Worlds. The Lahti Pelicans are a Finnish professional ice hockey team playing in the Liiga. Founded in 1996, they play in the city of Lahti at Isku Arena. The team is co-owned by (among others) former National Hockey League (NHL) goaltender Pasi Nurminen and Formula One racecar driver Valtteri Bottas. History Viipurin Reipas (1891–1964) Viipurin Reipas was a sports club located in Vyborg. The SM-liiga (marketed as just Liiga from 2013 on), (Finnish for ''League'') colloquially called the Finnish Elite League in English or FM-ligan in Swedish, is the top professional ice hockey league in Finland. It is one of the six founding leagues of the Champions Hockey League and currently allocated five spots - the maximum number - based on success in previous editions. It was created in 1975 to replace the SM-sarja, which was fundamentally an amateur league. The SM-liiga is not directly overseen by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association, but the league and association have an agreement of cooperation.
