Tomás Hervás
Tomás Alberto Hervás Girón (born 25 November 1970) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a midfielder, and a current assistant manager of Sporting Gijón. Playing career Born in Ponferrada, Castile and León, Tomás graduated from Sporting de Gijón's youth setup, and made his senior debuts with the reserves, playing several seasons in Segunda División B. On 1 September 1991 he appeared in his first competitive match with the main squad – and in La Liga – starting in a 1–0 away win against Real Valladolid. In 1998, Tomás moved to Celta de Vigo also in the top division. With the Galician club he appeared regularly, and won the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2000. After a short stint at Sevilla FC (being deemed surplus to requirements at the very end), Tomás signed for Segunda División club UD Las Palmas in January 2003. Ponferrada
Ponferrada () is a city of Spain, located in the autonomous community of Castile and León. Ponferrada, the second most populated municipality of the Province of León, is also the capital city of El Bierzo, the only ''comarca'' recognized as an administrative entity by law in the region. Abelardo Fernández
Abelardo Fernández Antuña (; born 19 April 1970), known simply as Abelardo as a player, is a Spanish former footballer who played as a central defender, currently a manager. A player with good heading and marking ability, he was also known for a distinctive bald head, a style which he adopted from a relatively young age. During his career he was almost exclusively associated with Sporting de Gijón and Barcelona, having amassed La Liga totals of 385 matches and 24 goals over 14 seasons, and also managed the former club for three years. Having won more than 50 caps for Spain in one full decade, Abelardo represented the nation in two World Cups and as many European Championships. UEFA Intertoto Cup
The UEFA Intertoto Cup (from la, Inter, 'between' + german: toto, 'betting pool'),Most precisely, from (football pool); cf. often abbreviated and more known in the German-speaking world as UI Cup and originally called the International Football Cup, was a summer football competition. The competition was discontinued after the 2008 tournament. Teams who originally would have entered the Intertoto Cup now directly enter the qualifying stages of the UEFA Europa League from this point. The tournament was founded in 1961–62, but was only taken over by UEFA in 1995. Initially, the tournament ended with a single champion, who received the Intertoto Cup. Starting in 1967, the tournament ended with a number of group winners (7 to 14 winners, see below), who received cash prizes.
