Tommy Tomorrow
Tommy Tomorrow is a science fiction hero published by DC Comics in several of their titles from 1947 to 1963. He first appeared in '' Real Fact Comics'' #6 (January 1947). He was created by Jack Schiff, George Kashdan, Bernie Breslauer, Virgil Finlay, and Howard Sherman. The comic was originally intended to feature non-fiction tales in the style of ''Ripley's Believe It or Not''; Tommy Tomorrow's trip to Mars was presented as a future vision of space travel. The strip was a back-up feature in ''Action Comics'' from issue #127 (Dec 1948) to #147 (Aug 1950). Fictional character biography Tommy Tomorrow graduated from Space Port "West Point" in 1988. He is now a Colonel in the Planeteers, a police force in the 21st century. Gotham is the capital city of not only the Earth but of the Solar System. Jim Mooney
James Noel Mooney (August 13, 1919 – March 30, 2008) was an American comics artist best known for his long tenure at DC Comics and as the signature artist of Supergirl, as well as a Marvel Comics inker and Spider-Man artist, both during what comics historians and fans call the Silver Age of Comic Books and what is known as the Bronze Age of Comic Books. He sometimes inked under the pseudonym Jay Noel. Biography Early life and career Jim Mooney was born in New York City and raised in Los Angeles. Friends with pulp-fiction author Henry Kuttner and Californian science-fiction fans such as Forrest J. Ackerman, he drew the cover for the first issue of ''Imagination'', an Ackerman fanzine that included Ray Bradbury's first published story, " Hollerbochen's Dilemma". Legion Of Super-Heroes
The Legion of Super-Heroes is a fictional superhero team appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by writer Otto Binder and artist Al Plastino, the Legion is a group of superpowered beings living in the 30th and 31st centuries of the , and first appears in '' Adventure Comics'' #247 (April 1958). Initially, the team was closely associated with the original Superboy character ( Superman when he was a teenager), and was portrayed as a group of time travelers. Later, the Legion's origin and back story were fleshed out, and the group was given its own monthly comic. Eventually, Superboy was removed from the team altogether and appeared only as an occasional guest star. The team has undergone two major reboots during its run.
