Thomas R. Sankey III (born September 21, 1980) is a Republican Party (United States), Republican former member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Originally, he represented the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, District 74, 74th District from 2013 to 2014. Following redistricting in Pennsylvania, redistricting, Sankey represented the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, District 73, 73rd District from 2015 until 2022. Early life and education Sankey attended the Clearfield Area School District and received a bachelor's degree in accounting from St. Francis University. A whip is an official of a political party whose task is to ensure party discipline in a legislature. This means ensuring that members of the party vote according to the party platform, rather than according to their own individual ideology or the will of their donors or constituents. Whips are the party's "enforcers". They try to ensure that their fellow political party legislators attend voting sessions and vote according to their party's official policy.
