Tommy Mace
Frank Thomas Mace III (born November 11, 1998) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Cleveland Guardians organization. He played college baseball for the Florida Gators. Amateur career Mace attended Sunlake High School in Land o' Lakes, Florida. As a junior in 2016, he pitched to a 1.14 ERA with 64 strikeouts over 49 innings. In 2017, his senior year, he went 8–2 with a 1.29 ERA and ninety strikeouts. He was named the North Suncoast Pitcher of the Year by the ''Tampa Bay Times''. He was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the 12th round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft, but did not sign and instead enrolled at the University of Florida. In 2018, Mace's freshman year at Florida, he appeared in 26 games (making six starts) in which he went 5–0 with a 4.16 ERA over innings. Lake County Captains
The Lake County Captains are a Minor League Baseball team in Eastlake, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, that plays in the Midwest League as the High-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. The Captains joined the Class A Midwest League following the 2009 season in a shuffle caused by the Columbus Catfish's move to Bowling Green, Kentucky, for the 2009 season. The move alleviated travel costs and time, as it was the South Atlantic League's northernmost team. Prior to the 2003 season, the club was based in Columbus, Georgia, and known as the Columbus RedStixx. The Captains play their home games in Classic Park, which has a capacity of 6,157 and opened in 2003 as Eastlake Stadium. The current stadium name is the result of a naming rights arrangement; the sponsor is Classic Automotive Group, a major area chain of auto dealerships. Cape Cod Baseball League
The Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL or Cape League) is a collegiate summer baseball wooden bat league located on Cape Cod in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. One of the nation's premier collegiate summer leagues, the league boasts over one thousand former players who have gone on to play in the major leagues. The Eastern League (EL) is a Minor League Baseball (MiLB) sports league that has operated under that name since 1938, with the exception of the 2021 season, during which the league operated under the moniker Double-A Northeast. The league has played at the Double-A level since 1963, and consists primarily of teams located in the Northeastern United States. Midwest League
The Midwest League is a Minor League Baseball league established in 1947 and based in the Midwestern United States. A Class A league for most of its history, the league was promoted to High-A as part of Major League Baseball's 2021 reorganization of the minor leagues. The Midwest League began as the Illinois State League (1947–1948) and then became the Mississippi–Ohio Valley League (1949–1955).
