Tommie Robinson
Tommie Robinson (born April 4, 1963) is an American football coach who was most recently the running backs coach at Texas A&M University. Playing career Robinson was a three-year starter at strong safety for the Trojans. There he was a player on the 1984 Division II national championship team under Chan Gailey. Coaching career High school coaching Robinson began his coaching career at the high school level beginning in 1986 as an assistant at Woodham High School in Pensacola, Florida. After two years there he returned to his alma mater Central High School Red Devils in Phenix City, Alabama where he served as an assistant for three years. Coaching in college and the NFL Robinson began coaching on the college level in 1991 as a graduate assistant for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Phenix City, Alabama
Phenix City is a city in Lee and Russell counties in the U.S. state of Alabama, and the county seat of Russell County. As of the 2020 Census, the population of the city was 38,817. A graduate assistant serves in a support role at a university, usually while completing post-graduate education. 1991 Arkansas Razorbacks Football Team
The 1991 Arkansas Razorbacks football team represented the University of Arkansas during the 1991 NCAA Division I-A football season. Jack Crowe's team improved from a 3–8 record in 1990 to become bowl eligible again in 1991. Punter Pete Raether finished third in the nation in punting average, with 43.6 yards per boot. On the other side of the ball, punt returner Michael James averaged 14.3 yards per return, seventh in the nation. This season ended Arkansas' tenure in the Southwest Conference. The SWC had every team except Arkansas, Rice, and Baylor hit with sanctions or recruiting scandals in the 1980s (including SMU's "Death penalty" in 1987). The conference finally be dissolved in 1996. The Razorbacks moved to the Southeastern Conference (SEC), beginning in 1992. South Carolina also joined the SEC that year. Chan Gailey
Thomas Chandler Gailey Jr. (born January 5, 1952) is a former American football coach. Most recently in 2020, he was the offensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). Gailey has previously served as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and Buffalo Bills from 1998 to 2012. In a coaching career spanning 46 years, Gailey began his NFL career as part of Dan Reeves' coaching staff on the Denver Broncos from 1985 to 1990, appearing in Super Bowls XXI, XXII, and XXIV with the Broncos. Gailey was on the Pittsburgh Steelers staff from 1994 to 1997 when the Steelers won four straight AFC Central titles and coached in one Super Bowl (XXX). The 1984 Troy State Trojans football team represented Troy State University during the 1984 NCAA Division II football season, and completed the 64th season of Trojans football. The Trojans played their home games in at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Troy, Alabama. The 1984 team came off a 7–4 record from the previous season. The 1984 team was led by coach Chan Gailey. American Football
American football (referred to simply as football in the United States and Canada), also known as gridiron, is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end.
