The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. It is a type of gazetteer. It was developed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the United States Board on Geographic Names (BGN) to promote the standardization of feature names. Walls Farm Barn And Corn Crib
The Walls Farm Barn and Corn Crib were historic farm outbuildings in rural southern Lonoke County, Arkansas. The barn was a two-story gable-roofed structure, with a broad central hall and a shed-roof extension to one side. The corn crib was a single story frame structure, with a gable-roofed center and shed-roofed extensions around each side. They were built c. 1907–08, and were relatively unaltered examples of period farm architecture when they were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. The buildings have been listed as destroyed in the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program database. Arkansas Highway 31
Highway 31 (AR 31, Ark. 31 and Hwy. 31) is a north–south state highway in Central Arkansas. The route of runs from U.S. Route 79B (US 79B) near Pine Bluff north across US 165, US 70, Interstate 40 (I-40) and US 64/US 67/US 167 (Future Interstate 57 ) before terminating at Highway 5 near Romance. Route description The highway begins north of Pine Bluff at US 79B and runs north to intersect Highway 15 near Sherrill. Continuing north of this junction Highway 31 passes the Tucker Unit and passes through farm fields before it enters Lonoke County. The route passes the Walls Farm Barn and Corn Crib, listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) north of Tomberlin before it has a short concurrency with US 165 through Coy (a rare officially designated exception). Lonoke County is located in the Central Arkansas region of the U.S. state of Arkansas. As of the 2010 census, the population was 68,356, making it the 11th-most populous of Arkansas's 75 counties. The county seat is Lonoke and largest city is Cabot. Lonoke County was formed on April 16, 1873, from Pulaski County and Prairie County, and was named as a corruption of "lone oak", after a large red oak in the area that had been used by a surveyor to lay out the Memphis and Little Rock Railroad.
