Piła
Piła (german: Schneidemühl) is a city in northwestern Poland and the capital of Piła County, situated in the Greater Poland Voivodeship. Its population as of 2021 was 71,846, making it the third-largest city in the voivodeship after Poznań and Kalisz and the largest city in the northern part of Greater Poland. Speedway Grand Prix
Speedway Grand Prix are a series of stand-alone motorcycle speedway events over the course of a season used to determine the Speedway World Champion. The series started in 1995 replacing the previous format of a single event final. The first winner was Hans Nielsen of Denmark. Event format The format for a Grand Prix changed for the 2007 season onwards. Sixteen riders take part in each Grand Prix and over the course of twenty heats each rider will race against every other rider once. The top eight scorers advance to a semi-final and from each semi-final the 1st and 2nd placed riders will advance to the GP final. In this format all rides counted towards Grand Prix points totals, including the semi-final and final, the maximum points for a single GP is 21 (5x heat wins, semi final win and final win). The 2008 Individual Speedway Polish Championship ( pl, Indywidualne Mistrzostwa Polski, IMP) is the 2008 version of Individual Speedway Polish Championship organized by the Polish Motor Union (PZM). The Final took place on August 9, 2008 in Leszno. Last time Final was took in Leszno in 1989 Polish speedway season when Wojciech Załuski beat Jan Krzystyniak and Tomasz Gollob. Defending Champion Rune Holta ( Gorzów Wlkp.) was 12th. First time Individual Polish Championship was won by Adam Skórnicki (Poznań, former Leszno's rider) who beat former permanent Grand Prix riders Jarosław Hampel (Leszno) and Grzegorz Walasek (Zielona Góra). The European Pairs Speedway Championship is an annual speedway event held in different countries organized by the European Motorcycle Union (UEM) since 2004.
