Tomas Pačėsas
Tomas Pačėsas (born November 11, 1971) is a Lithuanian former professional basketball player, basketball coach, businessman, and politician. Playing career Club career Pačėsas was the Polish League MVP, in 2004. Lithuanian senior national team Pačėsas was a member of the senior Lithuanian national team that won bronze medals at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. Coaching career In December 2015, Pačėsas signed on as the head coach of Lietuvos rytas. He helped Rytas win the King Mindaugas Cup, but suffered a disastrous 3rd-place finish in the LKL after losing to Neptūnas in the semifinals. In June 2016, he extended his contract for one more year. The 2016-2017 season was even more disastrous, as the team struggled in the LKL and failed to qualify to the Eurocup playoffs. In February 2017, Pačėsas resigned, and left Lietuvos rytas. 2016 Karaliaus Mindaugo Taurė
The 2016 Karaliaus Mindaugo taurė, also known as KIDY Tour – Karaliaus Mindaugo taurė for sponsorship purposes, was the first edition of the newly formed Lithuanian King Mindaugas Cup. It's managed by the Lithuanian Basketball League and the Lithuanian Basketball Federation. The competition was held in Vilnius, in the Siemens Arena on February 19–21, 2016. Lietuvos rytas won the inaugural tournament, defeating Žalgiris 67–57 in the final. Their captain Antanas Kavaliauskas was awarded as MVP of the tournament. Karaliaus Mindaugo taurė (English: King Mindaugas Cup) is an annual national domestic basketball cup competition between Lithuanian professional teams. It is organised by the Lithuanian Basketball League (Lietuvos krepšinio lyga – LKL). The tournament is named in honor of Mindaugas, the first and only King of Lithuania. North European Basketball League
The North European Basketball League, or Northern European Basketball League (NEBL), was a short-lived regional professional basketball league. It was founded in 1998, by Šarūnas Marčiulionis and Dmitry Buriak.
