Tom Trevor
Thomas Trevor (born 1962) is a British curator and writer on contemporary art. Trevor is Associate Professor of Contemporary Art and Curation at the University of Exeter. He was previously Artistic Director of The Atlantic Project, in Plymouth, UK (2016–19), Guest Curator at the Whitechapel Gallery, London (2015–16), Artistic Director of the 4th Dojima River Biennale in Osaka, Japan (2014–15), curatorial consultant to the 1st ARoS Triennial in Aarhus, Denmark (2014–15), Guest Curator at the Devi Art Foundation in Delhi, India (2013–14), Director of Arnolfini in Bristol, UK (2005–13), Associate Curator of the Art Fund International collection (2007–12) and Director of Spacex (1999–2005) in Exeter, UK. Curator
A curator (from la, cura, meaning "to take care") is a manager or overseer. When working with cultural organizations, a curator is typically a "collections curator" or an "exhibitions curator", and has multifaceted tasks dependent on the particular institution and its mission. In recent years the role of curator has evolved alongside the changing role of museums, and the term "curator" may designate the head of any given division. More recently, new kinds of curators have started to emerge: "community curators", "literary curators", " digital curators" and " biocurators". Michael Landy
Michael Landy (born 1963) is one of the Young British Artists (YBAs). He is best known for the performance piece installation '' Break Down'' (2001), in which he destroyed all his possessions, and for the ''Art Bin'' project (2010) at the South London Gallery. On 29 May 2008, Landy was elected a member of the Royal Academy of Arts in London. Early life and works Landy was born in London. Imogen Stidworthy
Imogen Theresa Stidworthy (born 27 September 1963) is a British multimedia artist based in Liverpool. Biography Stidworthy has exhibited at documenta 12 and most recently her work has been shown at the Thessaloniki Biennale (2007), Shanghai Biennale(2006), “Be What You Want but Stay Where You Are” at Witte de With, Rotterdam (2005) and ‘Governmentality’ at Miami Art Central (2004). Daria Martin
Daria Martin (born 1973) is a contemporary American artist and filmmaker based in London and San Francisco since 2002. Working primarily in 16mm film, her work has been exhibited in twenty four solo shows in public galleries including at the Barbican, the Hammer Museum, The New Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, the Stedelijk Museum and Australian Centre for Contemporary Art. Mark Leckey
Mark Leckey (born 1964) is a British contemporary artist. His found object art and video pieces, which incorporate themes of nostalgia and anxiety, and draw on elements of pop culture, span several works and exhibitions. In particular, he is known for '' Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore'' (1999) and ''Industrial Light and Magic'' (2008), for which he won the 2008 Turner Prize. Yang Fudong
Yang Fudong ( born 1971 in Beijing) is a Chinese contemporary artist. In the early 1990s, he began to work with film. He began creating films and videos using 35 mm film. Currently Yang directs films, creates photographs, and creates video installations. Yang is known to explore themes that are historical, social, and political by juxtaposing contradictions between current social issues, with cultural norms. A fan of the abstract and fragmented storyline, he tends to create sequences that are long and suspended, with the use of black-and-white as a constant. Samta Benyahia ( ar, صامته بن يحيى) born in Constantine, Algeria, in 1950, is an Algerian French artist, known for her Arab Berber Andalusian geometrical patterns and rosaceae, called ''fatima''. Donald Rodney
Donald Gladstone Rodney (18 May 1961 – 4 March 1998) was a British artist. He was a leading figure in Britain's BLK Art Group of the 1980s and became recognised as "one of the most innovative and versatile artists of his generation." Rodney's work appropriated images from the mass media, art and popular culture to explore issues of racial identity and racism. Yoko Ono
Yoko Ono ( ; ja, 小野 洋子, Ono Yōko, usually spelled in katakana ; born February 18, 1933) is a Japanese multimedia artist, singer, songwriter, and peace activist. Her work also encompasses performance art and filmmaking. Ono grew up in Tokyo and moved to New York City in 1953 with her family. She became involved with New York City's downtown artists scene in the early 1960s, which included the Fluxus group, and became well known in 1969 when she married English musician John Lennon of the Beatles. The couple used their honeymoon as a stage for public protests against the Vietnam War. Doris Salcedo (b. 1958) is a Colombian-born visual artist and sculpture, sculptor."Doris Salcedo" Art 21, Retrieved 15 November 2018. Her work is influenced by her experiences of life in Colombia and is generally composed of commonplace items such as wooden furniture, clothing, concrete, grass, and rose petals.
