Thomas Poole (tanner)
Thomas Poole (14 November 1766 – 8 September 1837) was a Somerset tanner, Radical philanthropist, and essayist, who used his wealth to improve the lives of the poor of Nether Stowey, his native village. He was a friend of several writers in the British Romantic movement, a benefactor of Samuel Taylor Coleridge and his family, and an influence on the poems of Wordsworth. Youth Poole was born in 1766 in the village of Nether Stowey, Somerset, the son of a successful tanner and farmer. He was, against his own wishes, denied much formal education by his father, who instead apprenticed him to the family tanning business. In spite of his dislike for tanning he became a master of the trade, well thought of by his competitors, and in his spare time studied French, Latin and the humanities and social sciences. Thomas Bell Poole
Thomas Bell Poole (1820–1865) was a lawman in Monterey County, who joined the Knights of the Golden Circle and served as a crewman of the Confederate privateer J. M. Chapman. Biography Poole was born in 1820 at Franklin County, Kentucky. He married Mary Caroline (Duff) Davis. He went to California during the Gold Rush and filed for a homestead in Monterey County. In 1856 he brought his family to Watsonville, California. In 1858 Poole become an Undersheriff for a Monterey County Sheriff, Henry DeGraw. He became known statewide for the hanging of the convicted murderer Jose Anastasio on February 12, 1858, despite the California Governor John B. Weller's order to postpone the execution. After Weller accused Poole of murder, Poole, supported by Monterey citizens, took part in public spat with the Governor mounting his defense on technicalities. Weller's clemency was mistakenly issued in the name of Anastasio Jesus. However, his two-year term of employment was not renewed by DeGraw. ...

Thomas Henry Poole (1860 – 31 July 1919) was English-born architect who designed numerous churches and schools in New York City. Poole was born in Shrewsbury, England, in 1860. He was educated at Rugby and Christ Church, Oxford. Thomas Slaney Poole (3 July 1873 – 2 May 1927), commonly referred to as "Justice Poole" was a South Australian lawyer. History Poole was born in Strathalbyn, South Australia, the eldest son of Frederic Slaney Poole "Canon Poole" (9 July 1845 – 28 June 1936) and Rebecca Poole, née Scott (c. 1843 – 10 May 1931). He attended St Peter's College, Adelaide, St. Peter's College, where he had a distinguished scholastic career. He entered Trinity College, University of Melbourne, graduating BA with first class honours in Greek, Latin and comparative philology in 1894. In December 1894 Professor E. V. Tom Poole was a footballer who played as a goalkeeper for Burslem Port Vale between 1897 and 1901. Career Born in Crewe, Poole played for local sides Whitchurch, Crewe Carriage Works and Nantwich before joining Burslem Port Vale as an amateur in October 1897. He made his debut at the Athletic Ground in a 1–0 defeat by Barnsley St. Peter's in a Midland League match on 9 October. The goal conceded came as Poole managed to punch an indirect free kick into his own goal; he constantly ran out of his area during the match and did not impress. Despite this he signed as a professional in 1898 and was utilized as a reserve until January 1900, at which point he became the first choice goalkeeper.
