Tom Moore (born 1952) is an American politician. He is a Republican who has represented District 18 in the Iowa House of Representatives since 2015. Jack Drake (politician)
Jack Edwin Drake (July 29, 1934 – October 11, 2015) was an American politician in the Iowa State Representative from the 21st District. A Republican, he served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1993 until his death. Drake was born and raised near Walnut, Iowa, and lived in Griswold. Drake attended the University of Iowa. , Drake served on several committees in the Iowa House – the Agriculture, Appropriations, and State Government committees. He also served as the chair of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Appropriations Subcommittee. Biography Drake was first elected in 1992. He was born on July 29, 1934, in Walnut, Iowa. Grinnell is a city in Poweshiek County, Iowa, United States. The population was 9,564 at the time of the 2020 census. It is best known for being the home of Grinnell College. History Grinnell was founded by settlers from New England who were descended from English Puritans of the 1600s. Grinnell was founded in 1854 by four men: Josiah B. Grinnell, a Congregationalist from Vermont; Homer Hamlin, a minister; Henry Hamilton, a surveyor; and Dr. Thomas Holyoke. The city was to be named "Stella," but J. B. Grinnell convinced the others to adopt his name, describing it as rare and concise. Grinnell was incorporated on April 28, 1865, and by 1880 Grinnell had a population of around 2000. Northwest Missouri State University is a public university in Maryville, Missouri. It has an enrollment of about 8,505 students. Westmar College
Westmar University was a private four-year liberal arts college in Le Mars, Iowa, United States. It permanently closed on November 21, 1997. Westmar University was founded in 1887 as the Northwestern Normal School and Business College by Jacob Wernli, the Plymouth County Superintendent of Schools. Wernli severed his association with the school in 1891. In 1892 it was taken over by the Le Mars Normal Association, an organization of local businessmen who saw value in having a college in the town, and renamed as Le Mars Normal School. It emphasized the training of teachers for public schools. In 1900, ownership of the college was transferred to the United Evangelical Church, renaming it Western Union College. Brooke Boden
Brooke Boden (born c. 1973) is an American politician. She has served as a member of the Iowa House of Representatives from District 21 since 2021 and as a Republican. Business career Prior to pursuing political office, Boden had operated a dance studio for 24 years. While working for National Ballooning Ltd., a hot air balloon manufacturer owned by her family, Boden attained a repairman certificate, permitting her to inspect and repair hot air balloons. She also holds a license as an insurance agent, and worked as a dental assistant.
