Tom Kirkham
Thomas Kirkham was an English Association football, football Referee (association football), referee. In 1894 he officiated (most of) the 'Game of three halves' between Sunderland A.F.C., Sunderland and Derby County F.C., Derby County on the opening day of the Football League First Division season, instructing that the full match should be played after one half had already been completed in his absence due to missing a train. At the end of the first match in the FA Cup Final 1902, 1902 Cup Final between Sheffield United F.C., Sheffield United and Southampton F.C., Southampton, United's goalkeeper William Foulke (footballer), William Foulke, unhappy with one of his decisions, left his dressing room unclothed and pursued Kirkham, who took refuge in a broom cupboard. Fred Kirkham (football Manager)
Frederick Thomas Kirkham (died 1949) was an English domestic and international football referee, and briefly the football manager for Tottenham Hotspur between 1907 and 1908. Career as referee Kirkham was a well-known domestic referee who also had a job as a commercial traveller. He took charge of the 1906 FA Cup Final. He had also taken charge of 11 "A" International matches between 1903 and 1907, including Wales vs. Scotland on 9 March 1903, and was considered in the top three of world referees. In association football, the referee is the person responsible for interpreting and enforcing the Laws of the Game during a match. The referee is the final decision-making authority on all facts connected with play, and is the match official with the authority to start and stop play and impose disciplinary action against players and coaches during a match. William Foulke (footballer)
William Henry "Fatty" Foulke (12 April 1874 – 1 May 1916; sometimes spelled ''Foulk'', ''Foulkes'') was an English professional cricketer and football player. Foulke was renowned for his great size ( by some estimates) and weight, reaching perhaps 24 stone (152 kg; 336 lb) at the end of his career, although reports on his weight vary. Playing career He played four first-class matches for Derbyshire County Cricket Club in the 1900 season, but is remembered primarily as a goalkeeper for Sheffield United although he later played for Chelsea and Bradford City.
