Thomas Hull (1728–1808) was an English actor and dramatist. Early life Born in 1728 in Strand, London, where his father practised as an apothecary, he was educated at Charterhouse School, with a view to a career in the church. He made an unsuccessful attempt to follow his father's profession. Stage career According to ''Biographia Dramatica'', Hull first appeared at the Smock Alley Theatre in Dublin; and then moved on to Bath, Somerset, where he managed the theatre for John Palmer. His first recorded appearance was, however, at Covent Garden Theatre, 5 October 1759, as Elder Wou'dbe in George Farquhar's ''Twin Rivals''. At Covent Garden Hull stayed without a break, apparently, till the end of his career, a period of forty-eight years. Thomas Gray Hull (May 20, 1926 – July 29, 2008) was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. Education and career Born in Greeneville, Tennessee, Hull was a Corporal in the United States Army during World War II, from 1944 to 1946. Hull was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Greeneville from 1940 and a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars from 1946. He went to Tusculum College and then received a Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1951. He was in private practice in Greeneville from 1951 to 1972. He was a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives from 1955 to 1965. He was the chief clerk of the Tennessee House of Representatives from 1969 to 1970. Tom Hull (American Football)
Thomas Michael Hull (born June 30, 1952) is a former linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted in the twelfth round of the 1974 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers and played that season with the team. The following season, he played with the Green Bay Packers. Prior to playing in the NFL, Hull played at the collegiate level at Penn State University. Hull's son, Mike, followed in his father's footsteps and committed to Penn State in 2008. He later signed with the Miami Dolphins in 2015. Tom Hull is an American music critic, web designer, and former software developer. Hull began writing criticism for ''The Village Voice'' in the mid 1970s under the mentorship of its music editor Robert Christgau, but left the field to pursue a career in software design and engineering during the 1980s and 1990s, which earned him the majority of his life's income. In the 2000s, he returned to music reviewing and wrote a jazz column for ''The Village Voice'' in the manner of Christgau's "Consumer Guide", alongside contributions to ''Seattle Weekly'', ''The New Rolling Stone Album Guide'', NPR Music, and the webzine ''Static Multimedia''. Hull's jazz-focused database and blog ''Tom Hull – on the Web'' hosts his reviews and information on albums he has surveyed, as well as writings on books, politics, and movies. Tom Hull (mathematician)
Thomas C. Hull is an associate professor of mathematics at Western New England University and is known for his expertise in the mathematics of paper folding. Career Hull was an undergraduate at Hampshire College. He earned a master's degree and Ph.D. in mathematics at the University of Rhode Island. His 1997 dissertation, ''Some Problems in List Coloring Bipartite Graphs'', involved graph coloring, and was supervised by Nancy Eaton. Prior to his appointment at Western New England, Hull taught at Merrimack College. He has also taught at the Hampshire College Summer Studies in Mathematics for many years: as junior staff from 1991 to 1995, and as senior staff in 1998 to 2007. Since 2013, he has taught at MathILy, an intensive residential summer program for mathematically excellent high school students.
