Tom Hinton
William Thomas Hinton (born 1936) is a former Canadian Football League offensive guard who played nine years for the BC Lions from 1958 to 1966. In 1991, he was enshrined into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. College career Hinton attended Louisiana Tech University and was a three-time All-GSC pick and as a senior, he helped lead his team to the Gulf States Conference Championship. He was inducted into the Louisiana Tech University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1987. Canadian Football League career Hinton played in all 16 regular season games in 7 of his 9 years with the Lions and finished his career as the best offensive lineman in the team's history. As a rookie in 1958, he made the Western all-star team. In his second year in the CFL, he was chosen the Outstanding Lineman and the Outstanding Player of the CFL. Louisiana Tech University
Louisiana Tech University (Louisiana Tech, La. Tech, or simply Tech) is a public research university in Ruston, Louisiana. It is part of the University of Louisiana System and classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity". Louisiana Tech opened as the Industrial Institute and College of Louisiana in 1894 during the Second Industrial Revolution. The original mission of the college was for the education of students in the arts and sciences for the purpose of developing an industrial economy in post-Reconstruction Louisiana. Four years later in 1898, the state constitution changed the school's name to Louisiana Industrial Institute. Ruston is a small city and the parish seat of Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is the largest city in the Eastern Ark-La-Tex region. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 21,859, reflecting an increase of 6.4 percent from the count of 20,546 counted in the 2000 Census.
