Hatton Baronets
The Hatton Baronetcy, of Long Stanton in the County of Cambridge, was a title in the Baronetage of England. It was created on 5 July 1641 for Thomas Hatton, member of parliament for Corfe Castle, Malmesbury and Stamford. Thomas Hatton was also the first cousin once removed to Sir Christopher Hatton, Lord Chancellor. Thomas was the older brother of Christopher Hatton (later designated heir of the Hatton of Kirby), whose descendants later became Viscount Hatton. The Baronetcy became extinct on the death of the tenth baronet in 1812.The Hatton of Longstanton fortune and estate was then partially inherited by their distant cousin, Rev. Sir Thomas Hatton, 1st Baronet
Sir Thomas Hatton, 1st Baronet (c.1583 – 23 September 1658) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons of England variously between 1621 and 1640. Hatton was the son of John Hatton of Longstanton, Cambridgeshire and his wife Jane Shute, daughter of Robert Shute, Baron of the Exchequer, and justice of the Court of Common Pleas. Hatton was elected Member of Parliament for Corfe Castle from 1621 to 1622 and for Malmesbury from 1624 to 1625. In 1628 Hatton was elected MP for Stamford until 1629 when King Charles decided to rule without parliament. In April 1640, he was re-elected for Stamford in the Short Parliament He was created a baronet, of Longstanton, Cambridgeshire, by King Charles I on 5 July 1641. Hatton died at the age of 75. Sir Thomas Hatton, 2nd Baronet
Sir Thomas Hatton, 2nd Baronet (1637- 1682) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1674 to 1679. Hatton was the son of Sir Thomas Hatton, 1st Baronet of Longstanton, Cambridgeshire and his wife Mary Allington, daughter of Sir Giles Alington, of Horseheath, Cambridgeshire, and his wife Lady Dorothy Cecil, daughter of Thomas Cecil, 1st Earl of Exeter. He succeeded to the baronetcy on the death of his father on 23 September 1658. He was Sheriff of Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire from 1662 to 1663. Career His loyalty to the Crown does not seem to have been much trusted. He was one of the first to welcome back Charles II, and even before the Restoration made a special visit to the Netherlands to assure the King of his support, but is said to have returned "empty-handed". Tom Hatten (November 14, 1926 – March 16, 2019) was an American radio, film and television personality and actor, known as the long-time host of ''The Popeye Show'' (originally ''The Pier Point 5 Club'') and ''Family Film Festival'' on KTLA Channel 5 in Los Angeles in the 1960s through the '80s. Hatten was one of those television "pioneers"—from the 1950s and 1960s programs done "live"—no matter what mistakes happened. He also appeared in dozens of musicals, films and television shows. Early life Hatten was born in Jamestown, North Dakota. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and used the GI Bill to study acting at the Pasadena Playhouse.
