The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. It was established on 4 June 1917 by King George V and comprises five classes across both civil and military divisions, the most senior two of which make the recipient either a knight if male or dame if female. There is also the related British Empire Medal, whose recipients are affiliated with, but not members of, the order. The Australian Labor Party (Western Australian Branch), commonly known as WA Labor, is the Western Australian branch of the Australian Labor Party. It is the current governing party of Western Australia since winning the 2017 election under Mark McGowan. History The Western Australian state division of the Australian Labor Party was formed at a Trade Union Congress in Coolgardie in 1899. Boulder was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia from 1901 to 1977. The district was located in the Goldfields-Esperance region, and was based in the town of Boulder and its suburbs.
