Tom Glover (soccer)
Thomas William Glover (born 24 December 1997) is an Australian professional footballer who currently plays as a goalkeeper for Championship side Middlesbrough. Early life Born in Sydney, Glover attended Menai High School in the Sutherland Shire and previously played for the Sutherland Sharks youth teams. He was also a keen basketball player at school. In 2014, Glover moved to London to join Tottenham Hotspur. Playing career Tottenham Hotspur Glover joined Tottenham's Academy full-time in the summer of 2014, he started 16 times for the Under-18s in the 2014/15 season and impressively produced a string of penalty saves throughout the season. He stepped up to make his Under-21s debut in a 2–1 defeat at Liverpool in October, 2014, and played twice in Tottenham's run to the FA Youth Cup semi-finals. The Melbourne Derby is an intra-city local derby in Australia's premier soccer competition, the A-League Men. It is contested between the first two Melbourne teams playing in the competition, Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory, and is the A-League Men's first intra-city derby. A Melbourne Derby match during the 2022–23 A-League Men soccer season took place between Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory on 17 December 2022 at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium, in Melbourne, Australia. The match was abandoned in the 22nd minute after several incidents of hooliganism took place both on and off the field - this was the first time in A-League history in which a match was abandoned. Throughout the match, supporters of both teams both ignited and threw flares. In the 20th minute, the match was interrupted due to flares being ignited and thrown onto the pitch, two of which had been thrown by Melbourne Victory supporters. The 2020 A-League Grand Final was the fifteenth A-League Grand Final, the championship-deciding match of the Australian A-League and the culmination of the 2019–20 season.
