Fredericton (; ) is the capital city of the Canadian province of New Brunswick. The city is situated in the west-central portion of the province along the Saint John River, which flows west to east as it bisects the city. The river is the dominant natural feature of the area. Oromocto (electoral District)
Oromocto was a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, Canada. The district was created in 1973 from the old multi-member district of Sunbury, taking in the Town of Oromocto, CFB Gagetown and immediate surrounding areas. In 1994 its boundaries were considerably expanded, taking in larger parts of Sunbury County and parts of Queens County and it was renamed Oromocto-Gagetown (in recognition of the Village of Gagetown, not the Canadian Forces Base known as CFB Gagetown). Joseph Mombourquette
Joseph William "Joe" Mombourquette (September 9, 1922 – November 27, 2007) was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces and political figure in New Brunswick. He represented Oromocto in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick from 1982 to 1987. Biography He was born in Lower L'Ardoise, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, the son of Anthony Mombourquette and Clara Sampson. He was a member of the Canadian Army for 32 years, serving during World War II and the Korean War. He received a B.A. from Saint Francis Xavier University in 1952. Later that year, Mombourquette married Theresa Marion Clannon. He retired from the army in 1973 at the rank of captain and went on to work in Manpower offices in New Brunswick. The New Brunswick Liberal Association (french: Association libérale du Nouveau-Brunswick), more popularly known as the New Brunswick Liberal ''Party'' or Liberal Party of New Brunswick, is one of the two major provincial political parties in New Brunswick, Canada. The party descended from both the Confederation Party and the Anti-Confederation Party whose members split into left-wing and right-wing groups following the creation of Canada as a nation in 1867. The current political organization emerged in the 1880s to serve as an organization housing the supporters of Premier Andrew G. Blair and, later, federal Liberal Party of Canada leader Wilfrid Laurier. Today, the New Brunswick Liberal Party follows the centre-left tradition.
