Tom Egberink
Tom Egberink (born 22 December 1992) is a Dutch wheelchair tennis player. Egberink is a major champion, having won the 2012 Wimbledon Championships in doubles, and a two-time Paralympic medalist, with a silver and bronze from singles and doubles, respectively, at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. Match highlights On the 2012 Wimbledon Championships he was playing doubles with Michaël Jérémiasz of France against two-time Wimbledon champions Robin Ammerlaan and Ronald Vink both of which were from the Netherlands as well. Hardenberg (; nds-nl, Haddenbarreg or '' 'n Arnbarg'') is a city and municipality in the province of Overijssel, Eastern Netherlands. Forehand
The forehand in tennis and other racket sports such as table tennis, squash and badminton is a shot made by swinging the racket across one's body with the hand moving palm-first. In tennis, except in the context of the phrase ''forehand volley'', the term refers to a type of groundstroke—a stroke in which the ball has bounced before it is struck. It contrasts with the backhand, the other type of groundstroke. Ronald Vink (born April 21, 1976) is a professional wheelchair tennis player from the Netherlands. He specializes in doubles but also plays singles. Grand Slam performances Vink has reached grand slam wheelchair doubles finals, capturing his first title at the 2007 Wimbledon Championships with compatriot Robin Ammerlaan. In 2008, he successfully defended his Wimbledon Wheelchair title by defeating the French duo of Stéphane Houdet and Nicoles Peifer. In 2011 he won for the third time the final with his partner Maikel Scheffers. In singles, he has had less successes. Vink has never captured a singles title nor has he reached a final. Robin Ammerlaan (born 26 February 1968 in The Hague) is a Dutch former professional wheelchair tennis player. A former world No. 1 in both singles and doubles, Ammerlaan is a 14-time major champion and two-time Paralympic gold medalist. The right-handed player's favourite surface is carpet, and he was coached by Gert Bolk. His wheelchair is manufactured by Invacare. Michaël Jérémiasz (born 15 October 1981, in Paris) is a French former professional wheelchair tennis player. He won a gold medal in the men's doubles event at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, and has completed the career Super Slam in doubles. Jérémiasz has been ranked world No. 1 in both doubles and singles. Wheelchair tennis was first contested at the Summer Paralympics as a demonstration sport in 1988, with two events being held (men's and women's singles). It became an official medal-awarding sport in 1992 and has been competed at every Summer Paralympics since then.
