Tom Dore
Tom Dore is a retired American basketball player and former Comcast SportsNet play-by-play announcer for the National Basketball Association's Chicago Bulls. A native of Northlake, Illinois, the Dore played basketball at East Leyden High School in Franklin Park, Illinois, where he was an All-America honoree during the mid-1970s. Dore then played at the University of Missouri, where he appeared in two NCAA Tournaments and became the school's all-time leader in tournament blocked shots. Afterwards, he played professionally in France and New Zealand before turning to a broadcasting career. During the 1980s and early 1990s, he did color commentary and play-by-play work for The University of Texas, Southern Methodist University and the University of Missouri sports events on the radio. East Leyden High School
East Leyden High School is a secondary school located in Franklin Park, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago) which educates grades 9-12. Together with West Leyden High School in Northlake, Illinois, they serve the suburban communities in Franklin Park, Northlake, Rosemont, Schiller Park, River Grove, Melrose Park and unincorporated Leyden Township. Both are part Leyden High School District 212. History The original school was opened in 1911 as a one year school. It expanded to a three-year school two years later and it finally became a four-year high school in 1924, the year that the District began. The school was expanded many times until, in 1958, when a second campus was built in Northlake, known as West Leyden. Mike North (born May 1, 1951) is an American radio sports personality, formerly working for Clear Channel Communications as a cohost with Andy Furman on ''Fox Sports Daybreak'' Mon-Friday from 5am-8am CST on their Fox Sports Radio subsidiary, until this program was cancelled in September 2016. Chicago Rush
The Chicago Rush were a professional arena football team based in Rosemont, Illinois. The team was founded in 2001 and played in the Arena Football League's Central Division. The Rush qualified for the playoffs in 11 of 12 AFL seasons, during which they won ArenaBowl XX in 2006 and captured five division titles. The Rush played home games at Allstate Arena from 2001 to 2012. The team struggled to find a permanent owner and later relocated to Rockford, Illinois in 2013 to play their final season. Arena Football League (1987–2008)
The Arena Football League (AFL) was a professional arena football league in the United States. It was founded in 1986, but played its first official games in the 1987 season, making it the third longest-running professional football league in North America after the Canadian Football League (CFL) and the National Football League (NFL) until the AFL closed in 2019. Wayne Larrivee is an American sportscaster. Larrivee is currently the radio play-by-play voice of the Green Bay Packers on the Packers Radio Network alongside color commentator Larry McCarren and calls college football and basketball for the Big Ten Network on television. Neil Funk
Neil Funk (born December 29, 1946) is the former television play-by-play announcer for the National Basketball Association's Chicago Bulls. Education and career Funk grew up in Indianapolis and attended Syracuse University, graduating in 1969. His first broadcasting job was covering high school and college sports for a small radio station in Danville, Illinois. He quickly moved up the ranks to acquire a job with the Philadelphia 76ers' WIBG-radio broadcasting crew in 1976. After time broadcasting for the Kansas City Kings, Funk began doing television broadcasts for the Sixers in 1982. Partnering with Steve Mix, he won an Emmy Award in 1989. Funk joined the Chicago Bulls as a radio play-by-play announcer in 1991. Ronald Stacey King (born January 29, 1967) is an American sports announcer and former National Basketball Association (NBA) center who won three consecutive championships with the Chicago Bulls from 1991 to 1993 while playing next to Michael Jordan. King is the color commentator for Chicago Bulls television broadcasts. Johnny Kerr
John Graham Kerr (July 17, 1932 – February 26, 2009), also known as Red Kerr, was an American basketball player, coach, executive and broadcaster who devoted six decades to the sport at all levels. The affable 6'9", 230-pound center starred for the University of Illinois (1951–1954) before he became a three-time All-Star and one-time league champion in the NBA (1954–66), primarily as a member of the Syracuse Nationals. Kerr was the first of the NBA iron men in the early years of the league. From 1954 to 1965, he played in 917 consecutive games, including 844 in the regular season, a record that stood for 17 years.
