Tom Dobrzanski
Tom Dobrzanski is a Canadian record producer, engineer, mixer and musician. He is based in Vancouver, BC. He is a former member of the rock band The Zolas, and is the owner of Monarch Studios. He began his recording career in 2001 with Vertical Studios, which he built in his parents' basement. He has recorded albums for local bands such as Said the Whale, Hey Ocean!, We Are the City and more. In October 2012 he officially opened Monarch Studios. Dobrzanski has been nominated for multiple Western Canadian Music Awards including Producer of the Year and Engineer of the Year. The Zolas
The Zolas are a Canadian indie rock band based in Vancouver and are signed to Light Organ Records. The band was formed by duo Zachary Gray (vocals/guitar) and Tom Dobrzanski (piano/keyboards/backing vocals), with various session musicians supporting them live and on record. The group has since expanded, adding Dwight Abell (bass/backing vocals) and Cody Hiles (drums/backing vocals) permanently to their lineup in 2015. In 2017, The Zolas received a Juno Award nomination for Group of the Year. Later that year, founding member Tom Dobrzanski left the band to spend time with his newborn child but is still occasionally involved with production. Hey Ocean!
Hey Ocean! is a Canadian indie alternative rock and synthpop band formed in 2004 in Vancouver. David Beckingham and Ashleigh Ball had been friends since grade 6, joining with David Vertesi in the 2000s to form the band. The band consists of Ashleigh Ball (vocals/flute), David Beckingham (vocals/guitar), and David Vertesi (vocals/bass). Their music draws from many genres, including pop and acoustic, and the group tours Canada widely. They have performed locally alongside other Vancouver acts such as Shad K, Mother Mother and Said the Whale. The band ran their own label for many years, being represented by Nettwerk Management, and had overtures from Gene Simmons before signing with Universal Music Canada for distribution in 2011. We Are The City
We Are The City was a Canadian progressive rock band based in Vancouver, British Columbia and formed in 2008 in Kelowna, British Columbia. The last known line-up included singer-keyboardist Cayne McKenzie, drummer Andrew Huculiak, and guitarist David Menzel. Their musical style is often referred to as prog rock. The Juno Awards, more popularly known as the JUNOS, are awards presented annually to Canadian musical artists and bands to acknowledge their artistic and technical achievements in all aspects of music. New members of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame are also inducted as part of the awards ceremonies. Lotus Child
Lotus Child was a Canadian indie rock band formed in 2003 from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The band members were notable figures in the Canadian music scene after the release of their second record "Gossip Diet" in 2006. Zachary Gray, the singer/guitarist and Tom Dobrzanski, the keyboardist/producer/singer were the founding members of Lotus Child, but the group’s increased popularity came with the addition of Peter Carruthers on bass and Miles Bruce on drums. Shadrach Kabango (born July 18, 1982), better known as Shad or Shad K, is a Rwandan-Canadian rapper and broadcaster. He has released 7 full-length studio albums and 3 EP's since his debut in 2005.
