Tom Dascombe
Thomas Geoffrey Dascombe (born 30 April 1973) is an English Group 1 winning racehorse trainer currently operating from Uplands Stables, Lambourn, United Kingdom. He trained Classic Blade and Firth of Fifth to win the G2 July Stakes and G2 Superlative Stakes respectively, on consecutive days in 2008 at Newmarket. His more recent achievements include training two Royal Ascot winners in Rhythm of Light and Brown Panther on consecutive days of the Royal meeting in 2011 and at the same meeting in 2012 training Ceiling Kitty to win the Queen Mary Stakes. On 14 September 2014 he claimed his first Group 1 success when Brown Panther won the Irish St Leger for owners Michael Owen and Andrew Black. Ralph Beckett
Ralph Michael Beckett (born June 1971) is a British racehorse trainer who specialises in training horses for Flat racing. He is based at Kimpton, Hampshire. Beckett comes from an aristocratic racing background. He is the grandson of Ralph Beckett, 3rd Baron Grimthorpe, whose horse Fortina won the 1947 Cheltenham Gold Cup, and cousin to racehorse manager Edward Beckett, 5th Baron Grimthorpe. After gaining experience with various trainers around the world, Beckett became assistant trainer to Peter Walwyn in Lambourn. In 2000 he took over the yard after Walwyn's retirement. Beckett achieved his first Group 1 win in 2008 when Look Here won the Epsom Oaks. Further classic success came with Talent in the 2013 Oaks, Simple Verse in the 2015 St Leger Stakes and Westover in the 2022 Irish Derby. Commonwealth Cup (horse Race)
The Commonwealth Cup is a Group 1 flat horse race in Great Britain open to colts and fillies aged three years. It is run at Ascot over a distance of 6 furlongs (1,207 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in June. The Commonwealth Cup was introduced in 2015 as part of changes to the programme of sprint horse races in Europe. The Diamond Jubilee Stakes, run over the same course and distance at the same meeting, was closed to three-year-olds at the same time. The new race was subsequently named the Commonwealth Cup and the Buckingham Palace Stakes was removed from the Royal Ascot meeting to make room for the new race. The race was initially open to all three year-old-horses, including geldings, to help the race become established. Richard Kingscote
Richard Kingscote is a British jockey who competes in flat racing. He won the 2022 Epsom Derby on Desert Crown. Background Kingscote grew up in Weston-super-Mare in a family with no racing connections and started riding as a child. He attended the British Racing School and was then apprenticed to trainer Roger Charlton. Career Kingscote rode his first winner in 2004. In 2008 he became a stable jockey to trainer Tom Dascombe. On 10 July 2008, he achieved his first success in a Group race when winning the Group 2 July Stakes at Newmarket on the Dascombe-trained Classic Blade. Andrew Black (born 13 May 1963) is a British entrepreneur who, together with Edward Wray, a gambling entrepreneur, founded Betfair, the world's first and largest bet exchange. He is now a noted angel investor in technology businesses in the UK and further afield, and is a keen race horse owner and professional bridge player. He has won many awards, most notably Ernst & Young emerging entrepreneur of the year in 2002 (shared with Wray). Manor House Stables is a thoroughbred horse racing establishment situated in Cheshire, England from where racehorse trainer Hugo Palmer currently operates. The stable, converted from a cattle barn by Michael Owen and his wife Louise, began operating as a training establishment in March 2007 with 30 horses in training. Martin Pipe
Martin Charles Pipe (born 29 May 1945), is an English former racehorse trainer credited with professionalising the British racehorse training industry, and as of 2021 the most successful trainer in British jump racing. The son of a West-Country bookmaker, Pipe was an amateur jockey before turning his attention to training in 1974 at Nicholashayne, Somerset, near Wellington, England, at Pond House stables. Pipe is broadly credited with professionalising National Hunt racing. He made multiple simple but effective changes to what had been then the traditional methods of training racehorses, specifically those in jump racing.
