Tom Collins (dual Player)
Tom Collins was a dual player from County Kerry, Ireland. He played hurling with Kerry and Kilmoyley and football with Kerry and St Brendans. Playing career ;Club hurling Collins won every domestic hurling honour available with Kilmoyley. Winning Kerry Senior Hurling Championships in 1962, 1963, 1964 and playing in losing finals in 1955, 1956, 1958. ;Club football Tom was a mainstay of the St Brendans district team for many years, playing in several county senior football finals, and winning a Kerry Minor Football Championship with the division in 1953. ;Inter-county hurling Tom was part of the Kerry team that won the All-Ireland Junior Hurling Championship in 1961 beating London in the final. ;Intercounty football He won an All Ireland Senior Medal with Kerry in 1959 as a member of the panel. Kilmoyley
Kilmoyley, officially Kilmoyly (), is a village in County Kerry, Ireland. It is 6 km southeast of Ballyheigue, and 10 km north of Tralee. Amenities Prior to more recent development, the original settlement in the area comprised two or three dwellings and the local Roman Catholic church. This church, the Church of the Sacred Heart, was built in 1873. There is a national school in Kilmoyley called Scoil Naomh Eirc. In Kilmoyley there is also a lough known as Lerrig Lough. Dual Players
Dual player or dual star is a term used in Hiberno-English to describe someone who competes in multiple sports — for example, in Victorian Ireland, cricket and hurling. The term today in Gaelic games typically describes a male player who plays both Gaelic football and hurling or, if a female player, a player of ladies' Gaelic football and camogie. The player does not necessarily have to play at the same standard in both sports. The number of dual stars at county level has decreased recently due to the increasing demands placed upon the best players of both sports. All-Ireland Junior Football Championship
The All-Ireland Junior Football Championship is a GAA competition involving four Junior Gaelic football inter-county teams. Prior to a change in competition structure in 2021, the competition was previously for all Junior Gaelic football inter-county teams in Ireland. In this previous format, the definition of what constituted a Junior player differed from county to county. In some, the junior team was the second team after the senior team. This meant that any players who had not played with the senior team could play with the junior team. In others, such as Cork and Kerry, players could only be chosen from clubs that played in junior or intermediate grades. These counties could not choose players from senior clubs, even if they were not on the senior county team. When a team won this championship, it had to pick a new team for the following year.
