Thomas Alberter Chandler
Thomas Alberter Chandler (July 26, 1871 – June 22, 1953) was an American politician and a U.S. Representative from Oklahoma. Biography Born near Eucha, Delaware County, Indian Territory (now Oklahoma), Chandler was the son of Burges G. and Annie Gunter Chandler. He attended the public schools, Worcester Academy, Vinita, Indian Territory, in 1888, and, later, Drury College, Springfield, Missouri. In 1894 he married Marie L. Wainwright, and they had two children, Norma Louise and Collis. Career Chandler was appointed a Cherokee revenue collector in 1891. Served as a Cherokee town-site Commissioner from 1895–1898 and United States deputy clerk of the court for the northern district of Indian Territory from 1900–1907. He studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1907 and commenced practice in Vinita, Indian Territory. He served as delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1908. Thomas Chandler (New Hampshire Politician)
Thomas Chandler (August 10, 1772 – January 28, 1866), was an American politician, farmer, and innkeeper who served as United States Representative for New Hampshire. Early life Chandler was born on August 10, 1772, in Bedford in the Province of New Hampshire where he attended the public schools, then became a farmer and an innkeeper. Career Justice of the peace in 1808 and captain of militia in 1815, Chandler was elected in 1816 as a member of the New Hampshire Senate from the 3rd district, serving from 1817 to 1819. He was again elected to the state senate in 1824, serving from 1825 to 1828. In 1828, he served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. Elected as a Jacksonian Democrat to the Twenty-first and Twenty-second Congresses, Chandler served from March 4, 1829, to March 3, 1833, as United States Representative for the state of New Hampshire. Thomas Bradbury Chandler (April 26, 1726 – June 17, 1790) was an American priest of the Church of England and author, who removed to England during the American Revolutionary War but returned to his long-time parish in Elizabeth, New Jersey and helped found the Episcopal Church in the United States of America. Early life Son of Capt. William J. Chandler and his wife Jamima Bradbury, Thomas Chandler was born at Woodstock, Connecticut in 1726, into a large family, with brothers William, Lemuel, Theophilus, Jemimah and Samuel and several sisters. He was educated at Yale College, where he joined the Church of England and came under the influence of Samuel Johnson and Timothy Cutler. It contrasts the life of the protagonist, Little Chandler, a Dubliner who remained in the city and married, with the life of his old friend Ignatius Gallaher, who had left Ireland to find success and excitement as a journalist and bachelor in London. Introduction In the short story "A Little Cloud" by James Joyce, the protagonist, Little Chandler, begins the narrative at his office job in Dublin. He excitedly thinks about his old friend Ignatius Gallaher who he is to meet at a bar upon leaving work. Thomas Chandler Haliburton
Thomas Chandler Haliburton (17 December 1796 – 27 August 1865) was a Nova Scotian politician, judge, and author. He made an important political contribution to the state of Nova Scotia before its entry into Confederation of Canada. He was the first international best-selling author of fiction from what is now Canada. In 1856, he immigrated to England, where he served as a Conservative Member of Parliament. He was the father of the British civil servant Lord Haliburton and of the anthropologist Robert Grant Haliburton. Thomas Chandler Thacher (July 20, 1858 – April 11, 1945) was a U.S. Representative from Massachusetts. Biography Born in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, Thacher attended the public schools. He was graduated from Adams Academy, Quincy, Massachusetts, in 1878 and from Harvard University in 1882. He became engaged in the wool business at Boston in 1882. He served as president of the Barnstable County Agricultural Society. He served as president of the Cape Cod Pilgrim Memorial Association. He served as chairman of the Yarmouth Port Planning Board. He served as chairman of the Provincetown Tercentenary Commission in 1920. Thacher was elected as a Democrat to the 63rd Congress (March 4, 1913 – March 3, 1915).
