Tokyo Jihen
, also known as Tokyo Incidents, is a Japanese rock band formed by Ringo Sheena, after leaving her solo career. The band's debut single " Gunjō Biyori" was released in September 2004, and they ended activities in February 2012. The band sold 2.3 million albums, singles, and DVDs. The band reunited and released a new single on January 1, 2020. History Origins (2003) Tokyo Jihen started as Ringo Sheena's backing band at first for her last concert tour before ending the first half of her solo career. Sheena was contemplating working with a band while working on her last solo album, ''Kalk Samen'' ''Kuri no Hana''. She began looking for members of her backing band to support her solo tour " Sugoroku Ecstasy" in the Autumn of 2003. Ongaku
''Ongaku'' (音楽; literally ''Music'') is the sixth studio album by Japanese rock band Tokyo Jihen, released on 9 June 2021 through EMI Records. The album was produced by the band and recording engineer Uni Inoue. Background Tokyo Jihen had dissolved in 2012 and had only briefly unofficially reunited on December 31, 2016, as Shiina Ringo's backing band in the ''67th NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen''. On January 1, 2020, Tokyo Jihen released a surprise digital single, "Erabarezaru Kokumin''"'', and announced a tour of Japan titled "Live Tour 2020 News Flash", beginning February 29. In February, the band announced their 5-song EP ''News'' would be released on April 8, 2020. (also known by its English title "Put Your Camera Down") is a song by the Japanese band Tokyo Jihen. It was released on November 16, 2007, as a promotional track from their vinyl extended play '' Variety Zōkangō'' and music video clips DVD '' Senkō Shōjo'', and was later added to their 2010 album ''Sports''. Background and development The song was released directly after '' Variety'' (2007), an album where the other band members other than Ringo Sheena served as the songwriters. The cover work is in the same style as ''Variety'' and its singles "OSCA" and "Killer-tune." Color Bars (album)
Color Bars (カラーバー) is an EP by Japanese rock band Tokyo Jihen, released on January 18, 2012, in Japan through EMI Music Japan and Virgin Music. The album was produced by the band and Japanese recording engineer Uni Inoue. The first press edition is a cardboard sleeve. Background The album's cover art is a combination of many "color bars", which is a representation of SMPTE color bars. They suggested the end of the band by it, since color bars fill the telescreen after all the TV programs for the day finish in Japan. This mini album, intended to be the band's final studio release, includes one song written by each band member, including Toshiki Hata's first composition for the band and the first time Seiji Kameda wrote lyrics for his own song. In addition, the lead vocals on "Kai Horror Dust" and "Honto no Tokoro" were provided by the songs' respective composers, while Ringo Shiina played drums on the latter track.
