Current Senior Pastor * Takeshi Yozawa Branches Tokyo Baptist Church has two multi site campuses in Misato, Saitama and Tachikawa, Tokyo. Parent Part of the Southern Baptist Convention through membership of the Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention. Worship Services The church has worship services in English (with Japanese subtitles and written translations) five times (on Saturday: 7:00pm and Sunday: 9:00am, 11:00am, 3:00pm, 5:00pm). A religious corporation is a type of religious non-profit organization, which has been incorporated under the law. Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention
The Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention (HPBC) is a group of churches affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention located in the U.S. state of Hawaii and other pacific regions. Headquartered in Honolulu, it is made up of 138 churches on 11 islands in 6 Baptist associations. History Baptist work had its beginning in 1926 when Charles J. McDonald, a layman, started work in the town of Wahiawa with a Sunday School which eventually became the First Baptist Church of Wahiawa. A few Southern Baptist missionaries stopped in Hawaii for short periods of time between 1937 and 1938 but it was not until 1940, when all of the missionaries in China and Japan were forced out of these countries, that the International Mission Board (then known as the Foreign Mission Board) began thinking about opening work in these islands. Southern Baptist Convention
The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) is a Christian denomination based in the United States. It is the world's largest Baptist denomination, and the largest Protestant and second-largest Christian denomination in the United States. The word ''Southern'' in "Southern Baptist Convention" stems from its having been organized in 1845 in Augusta, Georgia, by white supremacist Baptists in the Southern United States who were supportive of enslaving Americans of African descent and split from the northern Baptists (known today as the American Baptist Churches USA).
