Tokunbo Afikuyomi
Tokunbo Afikuyomi (; born 1962) is a Nigerian politician, he who was elected Senator for the Lagos Central constituency at the start of the Nigerian Fourth Republic, running on the Alliance for Democracy (AD) platform. He took office in June 1999. He changed constituency in April 2002 and ran on the AD platform for the Lagos West constituency instead, after senator Wahab Dosunmu defected to the PDP. Afikuyomi was born in 1962, and obtained a B.Sc degree. He was a member of the House of Representatives and Special Assistant to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) National Chairman during the aborted Nigerian Third Republic. After taking his seat in the Senate in June 1999, Afikuyomi was appointed to committees on Aviation, Foreign Affairs, Women Affairs, Public Accounts and Federal Character. The Senate is the upper chamber of Nigeria's bicameral legislature, the National Assembly of Nigeria. The National Assembly (popularly referred to as NASS) is the nation's highest legislature, whose power is to make laws, is summarized in chapter one, section four of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution. The Third Republic was the planned republican government of Nigeria in 1993 which was to be governed by the Third Republican constitution. Founded (1993) The constitution of the Third Republic was drafted in 1989. General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), the military head of state, promised to end military rule by 1990. This date was subsequently pushed back to 1993. In the spring of 1989, IBB lifted the ban on political activity, which had been in place since the coup of 1983. The conference established two political parties: the center-right National Republican Convention (NRC) and the center-left Social Democratic Party (SDP). The parties were required to draw from a national rather than regional or tribal basis. Gubernatorial and state legislative elections were conducted in December 1991. All Progressives Congress
The All Progressives Congress (APC) is one of the two major contemporary political parties in Nigeria, along with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Founded on 6 February 2013 from a merger of Nigeria's three largest opposition parties, the party came to power following the victory of party candidate Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 presidential election. This marked the first time in Nigerian history that an opposition party unseated a governing party and power was transferred peacefully. Babatunde Raji Fashola ( yo, Bàbátúndé Rájí Fáṣọlá; born 28 June 1963) is a Nigerian lawyer and politician currently serving as the Federal Minister of Works and Housing of Nigeria. He served two terms as Governor of Lagos State from 29 May 2007 to 29 May 2015.
