Toddville is an Unincorporated area, unincorporated community in western Linn County, Iowa, Linn County, Iowa, United States. It lies along local roads just off Interstate 380 (Iowa), I-380, northwest of the city of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Cedar Rapids, the county seat of Linn County. Its elevation is 787 feet (240 m). History Toddville was founded in the 1800s and had a population of 57 in 1902. Although Toddville is unincorporated, it had a post office, with the ZIP code of 52341, until its closing in the mid-1990s. Toddville is also the home of a school building which was formerly a part of the Alburnett, Iowa, Alburnett Community School District. This building, built in 1923, once housed a portion of the district's kindergarten through fourth grade students. The school began exporting students to nearby, and larger, Alburnett elementary in 1988, and was voted to be closed in 1999. The former school building is now private residential property. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. Wickiup Hill
Wickiup Hill is a Native American archeological region near Toddville, in Linn County, Iowa. The area has the Wickiup Hill Outdoor Learning Center which was built where a Meskwaki village once stood. Wickiup Hill has been excavated by archeologists. History Wickiup Hill has been occupied by people for around 8,000 years and has archeological evidence of Native American villages as well as of their burial grounds. Its burial grounds are under protection by Iowa law and are not documented for others to find. The mounds were stolen from repeatedly and no one knows what remains of their contents. The Oneota, Ioway, and Meskwaki people used to live in the area. Starting in 1994, multiple surveys and excavations were completed by archeologists to record its historical sites. People helped contribute to the effort by volunteering through field schools, teacher workshops, and camps for student archeologists. Alburnett is a city in Linn County, Iowa. The population was 675 at the time of the 2020 census. It is part of the Cedar Rapids metropolitan area. Alburnett was established in 1887, with the building of the Illinois Central Railroad through the area. Interstate 380 (I-380) is a auxiliary Interstate Highway in eastern Iowa. The route extends from I-80 near Coralville to Waterloo. I-380 connects the cities of Cedar Rapids and Waterloo, the state's second- and sixth-largest cities, respectively, to the Interstate Highway System.
