Todd James Pierce (born September 15, 1965) is an American novelist and short story writer. Life Todd James Pierce is primarily known as a novelist and short story writer. He is a graduate of the MFA program at UC Irvine and the Ph.D. program at Florida State University. As the winner of the 2006 Drue Heinz Literature Prize, he is the author of four books (listed below), and his work has appeared in over 80 literary journals and magazines including '' The Georgia Review'', '' The Gettysburg Review'', '' Indiana Review'', ''Iowa Review'', ''Mid-American Review'', '' The Missouri Review'', '' North American Review'', ''Northwest Review'', '' Poets & Writers'', ''Puerto del Sol'', ''Shenandoah'', ''The Sun'', and ''Willow Springs''. The 1st century was the century spanning AD 1 ( I) through AD 100 ( C) according to the Julian calendar. Charles Angoff
Charles Angoff (April 22, 1902 – May 3, 1979) was a managing editor of the American Mercury magazine as well as a professor of English of Fairleigh Dickinson University. H. L. Mencken called him "the best managing editor in America." He was also a prolific writer and editor. Career Background Angoff was born on April 22, 1902 in Minsk, Russia Empire. His father was a tailor named John Jacob Angoff; his mother was named Anna Pollack. In 1908, the Angoffs left Russia and settled near Boston, Massachusetts. By age 12, he began writing poetry. He became a naturalized citizen in 1923. He studied at Harvard University from 1919 to 1923 on a scholarship and majored in philosophy. Journalism In 1923, Angoff began his career in journalism at a local weekly. He answered an advertisement by H. L. Mencken, who hired him as an assistant in 1925. Joan Didion (; December 5, 1934 – December 23, 2021) was an American writer. Along with Tom Wolfe, Hunter S. Thompson and Gay Talese, she is considered one of the pioneers of New Journalism.
