Todd Betts
Todd Mervyn Betts (born June 24, 1973) is a Canadians, Canadian former professional baseball first baseman and a third baseman. Career The Cleveland Indians chose Betts in the fourteen round in the 1993 Major League Baseball draft. He later played with the Brantford Red Sox in the Ontario, Canada, Intercounty Baseball League. In 2003, he played for Yakult Swallows in the Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). After the 2003 season, he became a free agent. In 2004, he played for New York Yankees organization. During the 2004 season, he was selected for Canada national baseball team at the Baseball at the 2004 Summer Olympics, 2004 Summer Olympics. Canada finished in fourth place. He later signed with the La New Bears of the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) in early 2006 and played with that team until July 2006. Infielder
An infielder is a baseball player stationed at one of four defensive "infield" positions on the baseball field. Standard arrangement of positions In a game of baseball, two teams of nine players take turns playing offensive and defensive roles. A third baseman, abbreviated 3B, is the player in baseball or softball whose responsibility is to defend the area nearest to third base — the third of four bases a baserunner must touch in succession to score a run. Edmonton Cracker-Cats
The Edmonton Capitals, originally the Edmonton Cracker-Cats, were a Canadian professional independent minor league baseball team that played between 2005 and 2011 in several leagues. The Capitals are based in Edmonton, Alberta, and are currently inactive as they do not belong to any league. The team was founded in 2005 as the Edmonton Cracker-Cats and, with their provincial brethren the Calgary Vipers, joined the Northern League as part of that league's attempt to expand its footprint in Canada. For the second time in Olympic competition, professional baseball players were eligible to participate, though no active players from Major League Baseball were available. The Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) is a Canadian amateur baseball league, comprising teams of college players and former professionals from North America and beyond.
