''To Hal and Bacharach'' is a 1998 tribute album featuring songs written by Hal David and Burt Bacharach covered by Australian artists. The idea, developed by Kurt Luthy, Christa Mitchell and Melissa Whebell, was to have a number of Australian performers cover various David/Bacharach tunes, among them: Regurgitator, Rebecca's Empire, the Whitlams, Tex Perkins, the Avalanches, Dave Graney Dave Graney is an Australian rock musician, singer-songwriter and author from Melbourne. An album is a collection of audio recordings issued on compact disc (CD), vinyl, audio tape, or another medium such as digital distribution. The Mavis's
The Mavis's were an Australian rock band formed in Ballarat, Victoria, in 1987. Founding mainstays are Becky Thomas (a.k.a. Beki Thomas, Beki Colada) on vocals and keyboards, her brother Matt Thomas on guitar and vocals, and Andrea Vendy on drums. They were joined by Nick Gill (a.k.a. Nik Daniel) on guitar in 1990, and Josh Alexander on bass guitar in 1994. They released three studio albums: '' Venus Returning'' (July 1996), ''Pink Pills'' (April 1998) – which reached No. 12 on the ARIA Albums Chart – and ''Rapture'' (March 2003). Cordrazine are an Australian rock band formed in 1996 in Melbourne, Victoria. They released a top ten album on the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Albums Chart, '' From Here to Wherever'' in April 1998. The Lizard Train
The Lizard Train were an Australian rock band from Adelaide which formed in early 1985. They released five albums, ''Slippery'' (September 1987), ''The Ride'' (1990), ''Get Yer Wah Wahs Out'' (1992), ''Couch'' (1993) and ''Everything Moves'' (1995). Australian rock music historian, Ian McFarlane, contrasted their early work as "a melange of screaming guitars did battle over a rumbling rhythm section. Herb Alpert (born March 31, 1935) is an American trumpeter who led the band Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass in the 1960s. During the same decade, he co-founded A&M Records with Jerry Moss.
