Serhiy Fedorovich Tkach ( uk, Сергій Федорович Ткач, russian: Серге́й Фёдорович Ткач; September 15, 1952 – November 4, 2018), also known as Sergey Tkach, was a Ukrainian police officer and serial killer who was convicted for the killings of thirty-seven women and girls in the Soviet Union and Ukraine between 1980 to 2005. Background Serhiy Tkach was born on September 15, 1952 in Kiselyovsk, Kemerovo Oblast, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. He served in the Soviet Army, and according to neighbours claimed to have been a veteran of the Soviet-Afghan War. Tkach worked as a police investigator in Kemerovo Oblast, where he was recommended for admission to a Ministry of Internal Affairs school until he was caught falsifying evidence and forced to resign. Mikhail Tkach
Mikhail Tkach, also Michal Tkacz, Michael J. Tkach, and M. Nastivsky, (October 18, 1891 – ??) born in Mastisiw, Poland, of Ukrainian parents, and arrived in the United States at New York City on November 25, 1909, under the name Michal Tkacz. Tkach's wife, Yeroslava, was born in Slatchev, Poland, and entered the U.S. in 1913. The Tkachs lived in New York City from 1922 onwards. Tkach became a naturalized U. S. citizen in New York City on December 8, 1936. Tkach had long been active in the Communist Party of the United States (CPUSA) and was editor of the ''Ukrainian Daily News'', the leading Ukrainian Communist newspaper in the U.S. As early as 1923, under the name M. Yelena Anatolyevna Tkach (also ''Elena Tkach'', russian: Елена Анатольевна Ткач; born 19 May 1970 in Kopeysk, Russian SSR, Soviet Union) is a Russian sport shooter. Representing the former Soviet Union, Tkach won a silver medal in the women's double trap at the 1991 ISSF World Shooting Championships in Perth, Australia, with a total score of 121 clay pigeons. Anna Tkach (russian: Анна Ткач; born 17 April 1975) is a retired Russian-born Israeli sprinter who specialized in the 400 metres. Tkach is Jewish, and was a Russian citizen until 2003 when she changed nationality to Israel. She competed for her new country in the 400 metres at the 2003 World Championships, reaching the semi-final. She also competed in the 4 x 400 metres relay.
