Tizza Covi
Tizza Covi (1971, in Bolzano) is an Italian screenwriter and director. She lived in Paris and Berlin before studying photography in Vienna. After finishing her studies she went to Rome where she worked as a photographer. Since 1996 she works together with Rainer Frimmel on films, theatre, and photography. In 2002 they founded their own film production company, Vento Film, to produce their films independently. They have won several awards for their documentaries, including the Wolfgang-Staudte-Award at the Berlinale for ''Babooska''. '' La Pivellina'' is their first fiction feature film and has been screened worldwide in more than 130 International Film Festivals. Mister Universo
''Mister Universo'' is a 2016 Austrian-Italian drama film directed by Tizza Covi and Rainer Frimmel. It was screened in the Contemporary World Cinema section at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival. It was also screened at the 2016 Locarno Festival and the 2016 Vienna International Film Festival where it won an award. The film shows the everyday life of the slowly disappearing world of the circus with a cast of amateur actors. The winner of the 1957 Mr Universe competition, Arthur Robin, played himself in the film, as did a number of other members of the cast. Plot Tairo, a young circus liontamer, loses a lucky horseshoe charm that had been bent out of iron by strongman Arthur Robin, a former winner of the Mr. Universe competition. The horseshoe was given to Tairo when he was a child. Bolzano

Wolfgang Staudte
Wolfgang Staudte (9 October 1906 – 19 January 1984), born Georg Friedrich Staudte, was a German film director, script writer and actor. He was born in Saarbrücken. After 1945, Staudte also looked at German guilt in the cinema. Alongside Helmut Käutner, he was considered the only German post-war director of any standing who, after 1945, could look back on continuous artistic filmmaking far removed from Heimatfilm and the suppression of history. Staudte's films stood for politically committed cinema as well as for professional craftsmanship, for film art and (good) entertainment with a social claim. His most important work came in the ten years following World War II, in which he worked with the DEFA in East Germany.
