Tivim pronounced Thivim, is a village in Nathivim in Bardez, in the North Goa district of Goa, India. It is an important gateway into North Goa as the home to the major railway station in North Goa. Tivim was also the ancestral village of the first global beauty queen of India, Ms. Reita Faria. More recently Prathamesh Maulingkar was crowned Mister Supranational 2018. . Fortaleza De São Sebastião (Tivim)
The Fortaleza de São Sebastião, also called the Tivim Fort, after the village where a part of the long wall structure was once located, is a fort that spans from the village of Tivim, to the area known as Colvale, in Goa, on the west coast of India. Currently, most of it is in ruins and barely visible. However, parts of the structure are in the process of being restored. It is one in a series of three forts, stretching the length of the Tivim canal – which connects the Moira River to the Chapora River. Tivim Railway Station
Thivim railway station (Station code: THVM) is one of the main railway stations for North Goa at Tivim (also called Thivim). It is part of the North South line and almost every trains do have service for this station. Background While the station has only two platforms, it is the most important stop for trains in North Goa. This is the alighting point for all wishing to go to any part north of the Mandovi river in Goa, the North Goa tourist belt, and the talukas of Bardez and Pernem among others. Karmali railway station, some eight kilometres away from the state capital Panjim or Panaji, is closer for those wishing to reach central Goa, including the state capital. Cunchelim or Kucheli is a village in Bardez taluka, in the district of North Goa, in the state of Goa in India. Geography It is located at at an elevation of 14 m above MSL. It occupies an area of 197.3 hectares. Location Cunchelim lies at a distance of 2 km to the north of Mapusa []. The village was originally located by the Haran River, but now includes the nearby plateau. Prathamesh Maulingkar
Prathamesh Maulingkar (born 4 April 1991 in Tivim) is an Indian model and a former footballer. He won the title of Mister Supranational in 2018. He had played as a centre back for Dempo in the I-League. Maulingkar is the first footballer in Asia to be featured on the cover of Men's Health magazine. He also works as a fitness trainer and owns a gym in the state of Goa. Career Youth career Maulingkar hails from Tivim, a village near the Northern Goan town of Mapusa, Prathamesh had ambitions of being a cricketer. He showed the qualities of a footballer only in the teen years and made it to the Dempo U-16 team. He represented the state of Goa in the U-19 junior nationals. Bardez
''Bardez'' ( kok, Bardes; pt, Bardes; IPA: ) is a ''taluka'' of the North Goa district in the Indian state of Goa. It was a ''concelho'' in the Portuguese State of India before 1961. Etymology The name is credited to the Saraswat Brahmin immigrants who emigrated to the Konkan via Magadha plains in northern India. Bardez, or more properly ''bara'' (twelve) ''desh'' (country), means "twelve countries" (or territories). Saint Anne
According to Christian apocryphal and Islamic tradition, Saint Anne was the mother of Mary and the maternal grandmother of Jesus. Mary's mother is not named in the canonical gospels.
