Titz is a municipality in the district of Düren in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located approximately north-east of Jülich and south of Mönchengladbach. LVR-Cultural Centre Village Synagogue Rödingen
The LVR-Cultural Centre Village Synagogue Rödingen (German: LVR-Kulturhaus Landsynagoge Rödingen) is located in Rödingen, municipality of Titz, district of Düren, State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is a permanent exhibition in a former synagogue and a former family house of the head (''Vorsteher'') of the local Jewish community. It is dedicated to Jewish Life in Rural area, rural Rhineland of past and present. Today the Rödingen synagogue is the only Jewish house of worship in the western Rhineland still largely in its original condition. In 1999 the ''Landschaftsverband Rheinland'' (LVR), a assembly of municipalities, bought the entire property with the intention of opening the buildings to the public. Düren (district)
Düren () is a Kreis (district) in the west of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Neighboring districts are Heinsberg, Neuss, Rhein-Erft-Kreis, Euskirchen and Aachen. History The district was created in 1972 by merging the former districts of Jülich and Düren. Both districts date back to 1816 when the new Prussian province Rhineland was created. Before the Napoleonic Wars all of the area belonged to the duchy of Jülich. Geography Geographically it covers both the lowlands of the Lower Rhine Bay as well as the mountains and hills of the Eifel. Petra Hammesfahr
Petra Hammesfahr (; born 10 May 1951) is a German crime writer. She has won several awards, including the Crime Prize of Wiesbaden and the Rhineland Literary Prize. Hammesfahr was born in Immerath (Erkelenz), North Rhine-Westphalia. Her first novel was published in 1991, followed by more than a dozen more and significant popular success by the middle of that decade. She published over 40 novels in German. Her novel ''The Sinner'' was published in English by Bitter Lemon Press in 2007 and again in 2017 in the United States by Penguin Books, translated from the original by John Brownjohn. ''The Sinner'' has been adapted for television by USA Network as an eight-episode limited series starring Jessica Biel and Bill Pullman, and premiered on 2 August 2017. Despite initially being a limited series, the show would be renewed for three more seasons, finally ending on December 1, 2021.
