Anton Holly (March 19, 1875 – September 26, 1932) was an American farmer, butcher, and politician from Tisch Mills, Wisconsin. Background Born on a farm in the town of Franklin, Kewaunee County, Wisconsin, Holly learned the butcher's trade when he was nineteen years old, winning many meatcutter contests, and established a record of slaughtering and dressing a beef complete for the block in 4 minutes and 26 seconds. He owned a meat market in Tisch Mills, Wisconsin, for eighteen years, and from 1910 owned a farm in the town of Carlton, in Kewaunee County. Carl Johann Christian "Charles" Tisch was an American politician, member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, and historical person for whom Tisch Mills, Wisconsin was named. Biography Tisch was born on May 26, 1829 in Eutin, Germany. In 1851, he settled in what is now Mishicot (town), Wisconsin in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. He would build a sawmill and gristmills in what would become Tisch Mills, Wisconsin, which was named after him. Mishicot is a village in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,442 at the 2010 census. The village is adjacent to the Town of Mishicot. History This area of Wisconsin was originally occupied by the Menominee, Potawatomi and Ho-Chunk peoples. By the end of French rule over the area in 1763, the Potawatomi had begun a move to the Detroit area, leaving the large communities in Wisconsin.
