Tipsport Arena (built 2005)
The Home Credit Arena (formerly known as Tipsport Arena) is an indoor sporting arena located in Liberec, Czech Republic, sponsored by gambling firm Tipsport. The capacity of the arena is 9,000 people and it was built in 2005. It is currently home to the HC Bílí Tygři Liberec ice hockey team. It hosted matches from Group B and the Relegation Round at the 2008 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. It is also a venue for home games of Polish basketball team Turów Zgorzelec in the Eurocup and Euroleague. In its first five years of operation, the Arena welcomed 1.4 million visitors and hosted 467 events. Liberec
Liberec (; german: Reichenberg ) is a city in the Czech Republic. It has about 103,000 inhabitants and it is the fifth-largest city in the country. It lies on the Lusatian Neisse, in a basin surrounded by mountains. The city centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. Liberec was once home to a thriving textile industry and hence nicknamed the "Manchester of Bohemia". For many Czechs, Liberec is mostly associated with the city's dominant Ještěd Tower. 2008 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships
The 2008 IIHF World U20 Championship, commonly referred to as the 2008 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships (2008 WJHC), was the 32nd edition of the Ice Hockey World Junior Championship. The Elite group, what the IIHF refer to as the Top Division, was held in Pardubice and Liberec, Czech Republic, between 26 December 2007 and 5 January 2008. Canada won the gold medal for the fourth consecutive time. Sweden earned its first World Junior medal since 1996 by reaching the final. Turów Zgorzelec
PGE Turów Zgorzelec is a Polish a basketball team based in Zgorzelec. The club played in the Polish League (PLK) and won the Polish championship once, in the 2013–14 season. The club was sponsored by the PGE Group, and they are also the club's name sponsor as well but in 2018, the club withdrew after the PGE Group pulled back their sponsoring. The club continues to play in the lower leagues. The club's home court for domestic Polish League games is the Turów Arena. History The original athletic club was founded in 1948, as an athletic association with a football club in Bogatynia, called KS Miner Turoszów. Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. Bílí Tygři Liberec (English: ''Liberec White Tigers'') are a professional ice hockey club based in Liberec, Czech Republic. The team competes in the Czech Extraliga, the highest level of play in professional Czech ice hockey. Tipsport
Tipsport is the largest betting agency in the Czech Republic. The company was founded in 1991 in Beroun by a group of local businessmen led by Vratislav Randa, who is still a chairman of the board. The first branch was opened in May 1991. By now, the company has almost 700 branches across the Czech Republic. A real milestone for Tipsport was the license for internet betting in 2009.
