''Road Rules: South Pacific'' is the twelfth season of the MTV reality television series '' Road Rules.'' Taking place in the South Pacific, it was filmed during February and March 2003. A casting special aired on May 19, 2003, and the season premiered one week later on May 26, 2003. Cara Zavaleta (born June 15, 1980, in Bowling Green, Ohio) is an American model, actress, and television personality, known for her appearances on the MTV reality series '' Road Rules: South Pacific'', and as the November 2004 Playboy Playmate. During the season, she was voted off by her team and replaced by Tina Barta. Parma Heights is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States and a western suburb of Cleveland. Parma Heights is surrounded on the north, east and south by the larger city of Parma. The cities of Brook Park and Middleburg Heights form most of the western border. The city's population is 20,718 as of the 2010 census. ''The Challenge'' (originally known as ''Road Rules: All Stars'', followed by ''Real World/Road Rules Challenge'') is a reality competition show on MTV that is spun off from two of the network's reality shows, ''The Real World'' and ''Road Rules''. Originally featuring alumni from these two shows, casting for ''The Challenge'' has slowly expanded to include contestants who debuted on ''The Challenge'' itself, alumni from other MTV franchises including '' Are You the One?'', ''Ex on the Beach'' (Brazil, UK and US), ''Geordie Shore'' and from other non-MTV shows.
