''Timpul de dimineață'' (Romanian for "The Morning Times") or, in short, ''Timpul'' ("The Time"), is a Moldovan newspaper founded in 2001 by Constantin Tănase. Overview The director of ''Timpul de dimineață'' is Constantin Tănase. Launched as a weekly on September 21, 2001, ''Timpul'' became a daily in October 2005 (the only daily Romanian newspaper). As of March 2009, Timpulchanged their logo and their website. It targets a Romanian speaking readership in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, as well as the expatriates of the Moldovan diaspora. ''Timpul'' is a noted proponent of liberal, anticommunist and independent political views. Constantin Tănase (24 June 1949 – 30 October 2014) was a journalist and former politician from Moldova, member of the Moldovan Parliament between 1990 and 1994. Biography Tănase was the director of the ''Timpul de dimineață''. Christian-Democratic People's Party (Moldova)
The Christian-Democratic People's Party ( ro, Partidul Popular Creștin Democrat, PPCD) is a Christian-democratic political party in Moldova. The party was led by Iurie Roșca from 1994 until 2011. Until 2005, the PPCD and the (Moldovan) National Liberal Party were the main political organizations in the country supporting the unification of Moldova and Romania. After the PPCD began supporting the anti-unification Communist President Vladimir Voronin, the party has lost its unionist credentials while other parties such as the Liberal Party have taken over the pro-Romanian ideological space. Constantin Cheianu (novelist)
Constantin Cheianu (born 21 September 1959 in Truşeni, Strășeni) is a writer, playwright, prose writer, publicist, actor and TV anchor and journalist from the Republic of Moldova. As a dramaturg at the National Theatre in Chişinău, he adapted multiple novels for the stage. In 1993, together with the movie director Alexandru Vasilache he became co-founder of the Pocket Theatre ( ro, Teatrul de Buzunar). Together with Anatol Durbala he leads the show ''Ora de Ras'' at Jurnal TV. After graduating from the Faculty of Letters of the Moldova State University in Chișinău (1982), he became the editor of ''Literatura și Arta'' newspaper, where he starts with the short novel "Roua nouă". Mihai Ghimpu (born 19 November 1951) is a Moldovan politician who served as Speaker of Parliament and Acting President of Moldova from 2009 to 2010. He was member of Parliament of Moldova from 1990 to 1998 and from 2009 to 2019. Ghimpu held the position of leader of Liberal Party (PL) from 1998 to 2018. Family Mihai Ghimpu was born on 19 November 1951 in the village of Colonița, Chișinău, Moldavian SSR. Liberal Party ( ro, Partidul Liberal, PL) is a conservative-liberal political party in Moldova. The president of the party is the former Mayor of Chișinău, Dorin Chirtoacă.
