Timothy Taylor Gallery
Timothy Taylor is a modern and contemporary art gallery in Mayfair, London, owned and founded by the art dealer Timothy Taylor. The gallery represents artists and sells original and editioned artworks across different media. History Timothy Taylor was founded in 1996 on Bruton Place in London and later moved to 24 Dering Street in 2003, expanding to include a second space at 21 Dering Street from 2006 to 2007. The gallery opened a space inside a former bank building at 15 Carlos Place, Mayfair, in October 2007, with an inaugural exhibition of Alex Katz's ''One Flight Up''., The move allowed the gallery to exhibit a greater scope of works in a space designed by Eric Parry Architects. In 2019, it relocated to a five-story townhouse with a exhibition space, again designed by Parry. The gallery first opened at 515 West 19th Street in New York’s Chelsea district in 2016. Frieze Art Fair
Frieze Art Fair is an international contemporary art fair in London, New York, and Los Angeles. Frieze London takes place every October in London's Regent's Park. In the US, the fair ran on New York's Randall's Island from 2012–19 and in 2021 was held in the Shed at Hudson Yards, with its inaugural Los Angeles edition taking place February 2019. The London edition normally has about 160 exhibitors in Frieze. It is held over four days in a 40,000SqM tent. There is a simultaneous Frieze Masters event showing older work with about 130 exhibitors, and a temporary sculpture park. In 2021 stand rental was £524 per sqM. Background The fair was launched by Amanda Sharp and Matthew Slotover, the founders of ''frieze'' magazine. Simon Hantaï
Simon Hantaï (7 December 1922, Biatorbágy, Hungary – Paris, 12 September 2008; took French nationality in 1966) is a painter generally associated with abstract art. Biography After studying at the Budapest School of Fine Art, he traveled through Italy on foot and moved to France in 1948. André Breton wrote the preface to his first exhibition catalogue in Paris, but in 1955 Hantaï broke with the surrealist group over Breton's refusal to accept any similarity between the surrealist technique of automatic writing and Jackson Pollock's methods of action painting. A retrospective of his work was held at the Centre Pompidou in 1976, and in 1982 he represented France at the Venice Biennale. Antoni Tàpies i Puig, 1st Marquess of Tápies (; 13 December 1923 – 6 February 2012) was a Catalan People, Catalan painter, sculptor and art theorist, who became one of the most famous European artists of his generation. Life The son of Josep Tàpies i Mestre and Maria Puig i Guerra, Antoni Tàpies Puig was born in Barcelona on 13 December 1923. His father was a lawyer and Catalan nationalism, Catalan nationalist who served briefly with the Republican government. Kiki Smith (born January 18, 1954) is a West German-born American artist whose work has addressed the themes of sex, birth and regeneration. Her figurative work of the late 1980s and early 1990s confronted subjects such as AIDS and gender, while recent works have depicted the human condition in relationship to nature. Josephine Meckseper (born 1964) is a German artist, active mainly in New York City. Her large-scale installations and films have been exhibited in various international biennials and museum shows worldwide.
